Garbage disposal died what size waste king?
Well the title says it all. The garbage disposal is toast and time for a new one. The 3/4 hp is in my budget. Is it worth it over the 1/2 hp?

Just get the 1hp.
9980 1hp does it very nicely.

Or the 9980 hp model.

Was at Costco today and they had an American Standard 1 1/4 HP for $69 after $20 instant rebate.

On a rather amusing side note. I was looking them up and searched waste Kang, remembering Para's thread from a while back.

I maintain on a Red Goat 3-phase grinder for a local restaurant. $4,700 list price. 7" throat. Sits on three big feet under the scrape counter, right before the pre-rinse. Solenoid-controlled automatic water inlet. It'll grind and dispose anything that'll fit.

As part of the house restoration, the 1/2 HP Badger Insinkerator (1,700 rpm) will be replaced with a Waste King 1/3 HP Model #111 (1,900 rpm). Now I'm thinking that I should have obtained the WK Legion Series 1/2 HP.

My wife is a fervent believer that garbage disposal involves practically anything organic and a selected few non-organic items.

I bought a Waste King 1HP on sale some time ago, saved for a future kitchen remodel. It had a recall as was reported here, they paid for return shipping and sent me a new one.

It is a 1HP/CV model 8000. Is this a good unit?

As mentioned In April there was a large recall of Waste King disposals because of a fire hazard. It also included other brands that are made by Waste King.

It was NOT a fire hazard. There is a risk of the internal slinger thingys breaking. So far I have ignored the recall because working under the sink is a bigger risk to my well being.
