Picked up one new piece this year and one last year. Least I've bought in years. But, I did join the TargetSportsUSA Prime club. I have been using that a bit. I figure guns aren't very useful if you don't have the ammo... I have learned to stay off of VAguntrader, and out of the local gun shops. There is always a gun deal out there, but I have other, more important expenses at this point in my life. I hope to get back to buying more guns that I desire but don't need sometime soon.

Prepared for the Worst, Providing the Best |
I enjoy the hunt, so the month or so leading up to a new gun is always a good time. Then I get to shoot the crap out of it, and if it's a new caliber, stock up on reloading stuff for it. I've picked up a Speed-Six, a Springfield Loaded Stainless 1911, and a Garand in the past 6 months. Now Christmas is coming up and there are going to be expenses...and I just noticed that my 8lb jugs of powder are all scraping the bottom, I'm out of projectiles, and my primer stash is low. What money I can afford to spend needs to go into components...so no new guns for a while. I probably ought to sell some...

Yeah, that M14 video guy... |
I’m collecting my cabelas gift cards from my birthday and Christmas to fund my P365. The wait is unbearable! Hopefully, by the time it’s all over, I’ll only pay $200 out of pocket. Tony. Lucky to be Irish |
I don't really want any new pistol or long gun in particular. But to provide the temporary "fix" I decided to get have a little work done on my G26. I took it to BTC (Bowie Tactical Concepts) to have a grip reduction and undercut on the trigger guard. I love the G26 and it's my favorite etc, but have always hated the hump on the rear of the grip. If I like the results I'll give it back and get the slide milled for a red dot. I should have it back shortly after the new year, or if lucky, maybe by Christmas.

A day late, and a dollar short |
I have been successfully fighting this since my purchase of a P365 last April. I know this may sound "fuddy duddy" but I have way more than I need, and I am not a collector per say. However, I do have an itch for a DW Valor bobtail Commander size 1911 in .45 ACP. ____________________________ NRA Life Member, Annual Member GOA, MGO Annual Member

I feel your pain. I just purchased a P210-2 which should be here later this week. My bank account feels the pain, too.

Well, I stopped at an Outdoor World about a week and half ago, but I didn’t get inspired. I then hit an Academy down the road. When I hit the gun counter, I saw two salesman talking about and handling a new pistol that one couldn’t believe had come in since they were just released and in high demand. The one behind the counter acted like he knew me already and offered me to handle the new gun. I did, and it felt very similar to the Sig P365. Shortly thereafter, a customer popped in and snapped it up. Another customer popped in and snapped up an OD green P320. I liked the salesmen and the gun purchasing frenzy seemed to loosen me up. I asked the guy about something new in a hunting cartridge that was less than .30 and less powerful and shorter reaching than a 6.5 Creedmoor. He recommended the 6.5 Grendel. I’ve only heard about the round, but I didn’t know much about it. I quickly did a little search about its performance and history on my phone. I then asked to see what they had that was in bolt action with around a 20”/21” barrel and with a collapsible stock. The fella handed me an American flag themed Howa 1500. It had an AR rear stock and an aluminum forearm , which fit the other requirement I told him - having a stock that wasn’t wooden so I didn’t have to worry about damage while carrying hunting. I worked the slide, which was tight and smooth. He told me it had a really nice trigger, which I later found out it did. Also, where I saw the red, white and blue, I saw a cerakoted camo pattern in its future. Other than all of that, Academy was taking 10% off and it came with a scope. They say there were scratches that I didn’t really see other than a tiny little paint transfer, but they took an additional 5% off making it a sweeter deal. I just took it to the range yesterday to do the recommended 20 round break in, and at 25 yards, it shot edge to edge holes. Next time at 100, I’m sure it will do its sub MOA guarantee. The Nikko Sterling scope will do me just fine for now until I eventually find something before hunting season next year. eBay already arrived in the mail with my strap swivels and my green nylon MI Garand strap. This message has been edited. Doesn't sound "fuddy duddy" to me and I'm the same kinda. 3 carry pistols - Glock 19X, Glock 48 and the Kahr K9 Elite. 2 collectors - unfired Colt Python and unfired Colt Cobra. Sentimental as a relative left them to me in his will. 4 shotguns. 7 rifles of various calibers including my AR and a Garand. I have enough too I think. Hahahaha I did get out shooting today as my daughter came for a visit and wanted to shoot the Ruger 22 pistol. I got the 19X out since that's what I'm currently carrying. She shot about 50 rounds and I got 150 in. Felt good to get out in the backyard even though it's not particularly warm outside. Hopefully this will stave off the urge to buy a new pistol. I'd rather be hated for who I am than loved for who I'm not.

Short. Fat. Bald. Costanzaesque. |
Was in the 'pay now' part of online gun shopping Friday. Had a 686 in the cart. It was IMHO a very good/great deal. Phoned my battle buddy to talk me out of hitting the little red X and instead hitting the pay now button. He's always there for me, it'll be here around Thursday. ___________________________ He looked like an accountant or a serial-killer type. Definitely one of the service industries.
