The fire company was practicing pulling water from the lake. I caught this shot and wondered whether there was more water in the hose stream, or in that con trail far above. Thought it'd be a fun discussion for the Lounge. Personally, I suspect it's the jet con trail. The lower stripe is 120 ft long maybe? The upper is probably several thousand ft long?.. and 120 ft or more wide?

Assuming the contrail comes from two 5’ diameter engines, is 2,000’ long, and a cloud holds 500mg of water per cubic meter, then the contrail has about 2 pounds of water. The stream from the fire hose has more water.

That airplane trail is a chem trail. You know, the one that drops mind altering chemicals on the population…. I have a SIL that firmly believes that shit We will never know world peace, until three people can simultaneously look each other straight in the eye Liberals are like pussycats and Twitter is Trump's laser pointer to keep them busy while he takes care of business - Rey HRH.

Just because something is legal to do doesn't mean it is the smart thing to do. |
You might be surprised at how many people believe in chem trails. Integrity is doing the right thing, even when nobody is looking.

Yep,, because the stupidity titer is rising daily. RMD TL Davis: “The Second Amendment is special, not because it protects guns, but because its violation signals a government with the intention to oppress its people…” Remember: After the first one, the rest are free.

Thank you Very little |
Yeah, maybe they are dropping stuff from the Chem trails today, we got the wu-flu, chung king balloons, tomorrows wars won't be fought with boolits, it's gonna be radio waves putting thoughts into your head from the antennas in your cell phones, biologically altered foods changing your genetics to who/what, the chem trails are there to get the preppers and off grid people...

The next thing you know, these nut jobs will claim syphilis experiments took place in Tuskegee and Doctors gave radio-iodine to newborns at low income hospitals like John Gaston in Memphis. I did a little reading about contrails and I’m not so sure my first answer is correct. Apparently, most of the water in a contrail comes from the air around the exhaust after it leaves the jet engine. This throws my volume of the contrail calculation way off.

I don't know what everyone is all upset about the chemtrails. All they seem to do is make me hungry. The most effective safety is between your ears

Ignored facts still exist |
wait, they take water from a lake? I thought they stopped doing that after a scuba diver got lifted out of the lake and ended up in a burn area. .

I'm going with the fire engine. You got real water there while the contrail is just a glorified and oddly shaped vapor cloud. .

I appreciate the analysis! What I wonder though is the actual con trail width. Meaning that the 5' output at extremely high pressure would burst into perhaps 45' wide diameter per engine . Thus, the total volume of that 500mg per cubic meter would add up much more. Cylinder volume 15 meters wide, 3333 meters long = 9,423,835 cu meters 9,423,835 x 500 = 177,979,000mg = 392 pounds. I'm guessing that's much more than the stream, if any and all of those assumptions and calculations are right. Which is doubtful, because I did them! <shrug>.. That's why I asked you guys!

I posted a second post where I said I believe my first answer is wrong. The water that makes up the contrail doesn’t go through the engine like I thought. It actually comes from the air around the exhaust after it leaves the engine, so it’s not a fixed volume of water vapor that expands to form the contrail. Instead, it’s the freezing of water vapor in the atmosphere that’s expanding. Sort of like frost on a windshield starts in one spot, but the spot of frost isn’t growing. Rather, the already existing condensation on the windshield keeps freezing. That throws my original volume calculation way off.

I think you need to study this some more. I'm sure a multi-year, renewable Federal grant is available somewhere... === I would like to apologize to anyone I have *not* offended. Please be patient. I will get to you shortly.

A) If you can see a contrail from however far away - miles I would guess - it has to be pretty large. B) I’m not sure how much water is in the atmosphere in those conditions. Burning hydrocarbons releases water, and it would be hot, and under pressure, so I could definitely see it expanding - this would actually be a great Physics 101 question if I could remember it.
