My wife and I really like it. We have been looking for a new SUV for a while. We are Toyota freaks but, ‘Yoter has been disappointing lately. No stock.. we can get them in…. We don’t know when they will be in…. Lets go to almost all hybrid and all I4 engines… lets go to CVT… etc…. Thought we wanted a Grand Highlander…. Nope.. less room in front for us than our current ‘19 Highlander… We have droveFords, Lincoln, Caddies, Buick, Mazda, nope…. Then we tried some Honda’s. We had an Accord way back in the day and really liked it. Tried the new Pilot. Very nice… then we tried the Passport. Wow. A V6. Legroom. Lateral body room. Rides great. Good Honda build feel to it. The TrailSport is in the middle of the pack and has all the options we really want. Tries to wheel and deal… nope. Walked away… numbers too far apart. Dealer wants us to put more in while they just sit there. Walked out. They have already called once and texted several times. Told them we want it but, we can wait… We’ll get one but, when the deals are right.

Have you looked at the Pilot? More room than the Passport. We ended up going with the 2024 4 Runner. Real Suv, real 4wd, body on frame, Everything in it was old school Toyota, etc. Pretty happy with it even though it is a bit lacking power. A V8 would of made it a dream rig. They are essentially the same vehicle. Passport is just 2 row and Pilot is 3 row.

Yeah. We tried a new Pilot as well. Liked the Passport better. Felt that we had more room in Passport.

Hmmm, that is surprising. I looked at the passport 2-3 years ago. Liked it but thought it was a bit small inside and overpriced. At that time the new Pilot had not come out and I did not like the one of that generation. It was mini vanish. The new pilot I like as it made more of a return to its roots. But have not looked one over in person. Just seeing them on the road. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

I have a 2026 TSE. I love mine. Drove a Pilot and didn’t love it. Unless you need three rows, there’s no real reason to get the Pilot, IMO. The PP is plenty roomy, which is why I bought it. The V6 is a bit thirsty, that’s my only criticism of it. The PP slots in between the CRV and the Pilot size wise. I’m currently driving around Colorado in a rented Mazda CX-90. If I wanted three rows, that would be my pick. Great car. _________________________ "Age does not bring wisdom. Often it merely changes simple stupidity into arrogant conceit. The new 2026 Passport is a total make over inside and out.

I am always leery of the first year of a new design, ymmv. "Practice like you want to play in the game"

My story’s much the same. We’ve been Toyota for years but a Passport TSE is most likely my near future vehicle. I want bigger than a RAV4 and don’t want a V4 turbo Highlander, I’d do a hybrid but the upper trims are like hens teeth. The new Passport looks great and coming from a Tundra a thirsty V6 will be an econobox.

Just an FYI but Toyota Hybrids are eCVTs quite a bit different than CVTs. And that is a very good thing. What did you all not like about the Mazdas? ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. They suck and the most uncomfortable interior I have been in. Had a X9 or something as a rental for a week. One of their bigger SUV’s I thought I need a knee replacement and maybe some rehab work on my lower back when that week was over. I was about ready to drive that shitbox into the Gulf Of America via Lido Beach…

Haven't looked at the new Sport Sport yet. I'll keep it in mind.

Nah, I’ve driven both extensively (When my Ridgeline was getting aftermarket work done at the stealer). The Pilot is big, bloated, and floaty. Body roll, and IMHO, not good cornering. The Passport handles as well as my truck or better. I hate CUV’s with gusto but that Passport is pretty bad ass. Excellent handling via the SH-AWD. It corners better than any CUV without a M badge on it. Pretty damn good vehicle. I was extremely impressed with it and I have a ton of track miles under my belt. Good engine, transmission. Solid vehicle. What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

I’m just going by my wife’s uncle, the Honda engineer in Ohio, who told me they share the same platform one is just shorter than the other.

Drive them both. Many vehicles are built on the same unibody underpinnings. Doesn’t mean they drive the same. Weight, length, suspension differences, a whole of differences. What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone

We test drove a new Honda Pilot Elite. All the bells and whistles. Then we drove the Passport Trail Sport. The Pilot was nice and comfy however; we felt the PP TrailSport handled and felt better. It felt like it had more lateral room for the people up front too.

I’ve been following the development of these since I learned of the talk about the next gen PP running with their TrailSport package. We have a Forester Wilderness and a Toyota RAV4, and my plan is to trade them both in for a TS PP. my wife and I are now both retired for a year, and she never drives. I see this vehicle lasting us well into the future due to its normally aspirated V6 and conventional transmission over turbo engines and/or hybrids. It is crazy spacious, has a lot of storage, is minor off-road capable, and the cargo area is huge for our needs. Also, it is a Honda, which we’ve had a perfect track record over the years with our others. Retired Texas Lawman

The pilot is a slightly longer version of the passport. They feel totally different driving and riding in. I have a pilot, my friend has the passport. Both have been rock-solid reliable. You should test drive both before deciding.

We bought one last week, and love it! Just out of curiosity - how much are you trying to pay? I negotiated about $2K off of MSRP with no extras in about 30 seconds, so I can send you my deal sheet if you'd like. It's not the greatest discount anyone ever got, but at this point in my life, I'm all about efficiency.

Lucky you!!! Our city’s Honda dealership is known to not deal. They would not budge off list price. And gave us crap for a trade in. If you want to email your deal that would be cool. Thanks.
