#murph

Checking in with 51:14. Worst Murph I've ever ran.

RIP LT Murphy. You are missed.

Never done this. Need to start. Do you wear a vest? I have heard most people break up the sets 5/10/15, what do you recommend? (That time sounds pretty decent btw, lol)

Murph by strict standards requires a vest.
1 mile run.
100 pull ups.
200 push ups.
300 squats.
1 mile run.

My greatest advice is set yourself up with the right mind set that you are going to finish. I didn't wear a vest this year. I have a buddy that runs it in a full SWAT vest and gas mask. And runs it sub 40 usually. He is also 30 and in phenomenal shape.

My greatest advice is set the stage to where you can finish. If you can't do the pull ups, do ring rows. Or lat pull downs if you have a machine. If you aren't training for Murph, don't wear a vest.

You can also run a mini-Murph to where you half everything. 1/2 mile, 50-100-150 1/2 mile.

Breaking it up 10/20/30 or 5/10/15 makes sense.

Just finish. Keep plugging away until it is done.

I broke an hour! And with the full 20lbs this time, I just threw 4x loaded AR mags onto my previously bare plate carrier. Finished in 54:19

The first time I ever did it was about 10 months ago, 1:01:13 with only 16lbs.

We did it yesterday.

We need to make it an annual SigForum tradition again.

No blame, I've been busy as well.

So the wife and I gave blood the day before yesterday. So that made the Murph a little more.... interesting. We decided to split it up, so on my sixth quarter mile it turned from a run to a jog then to a crawl and puke. I have a general rule that once I puke I'm done with the workout. The wife finished it though, she's a badass.

Time: 1:12:05

Sorry Jones, didn't have it in me this year. Dealing with a couple injuries. I think my best time is 42 minutes and something, but that's without a vest. Mad respect to all who finished it today no matter what the time, and thank you to the fallen.

Did it Monday morning at 5:15 am. Got in to work and didn't see a thread. Did it in 48 min. I've never been fast but, I agree this is one of my slowest ones. I also haven't done one in over a year. I think I'll start doing this once a month maybe. Anyway, glad this is going on.
