Me: If carried by an honor guard or similar, yes. If carried by parade participants, no.

Interesting question... while I have been to a parade in many decades, I can't remember one where I wasn't standing the whole time. _____________________________________________________ Sliced bread, the greatest thing since the 1911.

For the same reason sno-globes exist. To keep the earth revolving properly, silly. Sheesh. I like the idea of standing / removing hat for the honor guards. Otherwise, at least around here, the entire parade would be spend standing, bareheaded. "I vowed to myself to fight against evil more completely and more wholeheartedly than I ever did before. . . . That’s the only way to pay back part of that vast debt, to live up to and try to fulfill that tremendous obligation."
