No riding around here yet for this year. 22 days with rain last month and so far every day this month as well.

No riding here yet. Still too chilly in the mornings (I don't ride in under 50F weather - too damn cold on the hands) and there's still way too much sand and gravel on the roads from the winter.

These guys in Delaware will import one for you and make sure it’s all cleaned up and proper. They specialize in two strokes but have all varieties of unicorns...or the forbidden fruit that we never got here in the states. They are always adding new sweet machines to their inventory.

I don't have an account with one of those image hosting services so I can't post pictures of my newest acquisition which is 2018 Kawasaki H2SXSE. I purchased the bike the last week of March but got sick for 3 weeks and when I wasn't sick it was raining so I just have over 500 miles on the clock with another 500 to go before I'm past the break-in period. The few rides I've been on has shown me this bike has lots of potential so I'm looking forward to seeing what a 200 hp super charged sport touring bike can do. I have a trip to Colorado Springs planned for July and a trip to Tucson, AZ in December. I also have a 2016 BMW K16GTLE and 2018 R12GS. I plan to keep the K16GTL but will probably sell the R12GS since maintenance and insurance to keep 3 bikes is getting expensive. Praying that everyone that responds to this thread has a safe 2019 riding season.

My most recent motorcycle is a VFR1200x and is somewhat of an "adventure" version based on that same bike. Honda brought them over for two years, 2016 black and 2017 red, they didn't sell well so they were discontinued. Honda had leftovers and in late March when they were auctioning all their old inventory off to their dealers I had my dealer bid on a 2017 DCT for me and we got it.
It differs from the F in a few ways, the 1200 V4 engine has been detuned down to 125HP but a little more grunt below 2,500 rpm, more upright ergos, spoked tubeless wheel with a 19" front, larger gas tank, more clearance and suspension travel, etc.

Here it is just uncrated at the dealer.



I added Givi Trekker Outback cases and a Corbin seat. My first ride on it was to northern VA for my grandson's birthday, that's him sitting on it.

2018 Low Rider with a few modifications. 5 hour ride yesterday that covered a lot of N.E. Ohio.

Am I the only one that doesn't care for all the shrouding around engines these days?

For me, part of the visual appeal of a motorcycle is seeing all the mechanical bits out on display.

I’m with you PHPaul. I have yet to put the fairings back on my R1. It looks so much meaner with the header showing and exposed engine bits. I need to remove the front fairing/headlights on it for a full on naked bike.

At $8,000 they are not cheap but in my experience high revving 250-400cc sportbikes are among the most fun you can have on two wheels. Most seem to run around $6-8k

Maybe one of these days. Nice part on the MC22 is that it's not an overly fast bike for how it sounds. The pistons much be like bottle caps on a 250cc I4.

You are right. The thing I love about my CB-1 (CB400F) is the mechanical symphony of its gear driven cams, flat plane crank howl and the fact that I can let it sing quite a bit without risking my life or license nearly as much as I would on a 1000cc superbike. I can take my CB-1 up to redline in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th and be kinda close to the limit. If I did that on my R1 I would be at least two times over the speed limit in seconds.

I think for the street the 250-400cc sportbikes are the most fun.
