Need a good program to organize photos on the computer. Also need a good program that will locate duplicate photos so I can trim some space. I used to use Picasa and was very happy with it's organization and timeline feature but it is now defunct. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. I wish I could help, but I don't actually organize my photos on my computer, other than having specific folders by subject and/or date. True organization is done when I upload them into Flickr, where they get grouped into Albums and Collections. flashguy Texan by choice, not accident of birth

Got a Gmail account? Google Photos works pretty well. ----------------------------- Guns are awesome because they shoot solid lead freedom. Every man should have several guns. And several dogs, because a man with a cat is a woman. Kurt Schlichter

Duplicate Cleaner Free. Works well. I don’t know about photo organizers. I just thought when I get around to it, I’ll create folders in my computer. Are you saying there’s a program that will automatically group your pictures? "It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. Like Bigdeal, I use google pictures for the free backup and unlimited storage. But it does group pictures for me. By dates and it knows enough about guns and dogs because I can do a search like sig sauer and the pictures come up. I certainly didn’t tag them. It also creates suggested photo books and it was good enough to make me order a book. I’m creating one specifically to order. I used to use batchphoto when I was shooting for money. Lightroom will probably do what you want. It is a nice tool but was too slow for me. Batchphoto was a lot faster.

I used to use VisiPics a lot when organizing photos. I don't have a reason to organize photos anymore so I haven't found anything to replace it. http://www.visipics.info/index.php?title=Main_Page "I'm yet another resource-consuming kid in an overpopulated planet raised to an alarming extent by Hollywood and Madison Avenue, poised with my cynical and alienated peers to take over the world when you're old and weak!" - Calvin, "Calvin & Hobbes"

Kind of. I have them in folders at the moment just a pain clicking through each folder, backing out, etc. Picasa had a really good time line view, pretty decent search function that was surprisingly accurate, as well as pretty good facial recognition. Just had a really solid interface that was laid out nicely and easy to use. I currently use Amazon Drive and Prime photos and the user interface is quite lacking on the desktop. I have 20k plus photos at the moment with who knows how many duplicates. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. While its editing capabilities are almost on par with Photoshop's, Adobe's Lightroom is specifically designed for organizing and cataloging your images. You can arrange them as "collections," add tags, set flags and more. It's part of the Creative Cloud offering ($9.99 per month) which also gets you Photoshop. You can't truly call yourself "peaceful" unless you are capable of great violence. If you're not capable of great violence, you're not peaceful, you're harmless. NRA Benefactor/Patriot Member

Lightroom is what I switched to after Apple gave up Aperture. At least Adobe makes money from Lightroom so they're not likely to abandon it. Screw up, yeah, but not abandon. And there's an add-on for Lightroom that finds duplicates. _________________________ “Remember, remember the fifth of November!"
