I didn't know about this, but people with pacemakers need an inclined sleep position. A friend of my wife has this need and thinks she needs a new adjustable bed (which she cannot afford). I told her we should just determine what angle she wants and get her some risers for the head of the bed. Not sure what kind of frame/feet it has yet.

Anyone else dealt with this?

Mattress riser or Elevation is what I discovered when looking up information. $50 on Amazon, might do the trick, there are several options, including a foam riser.

2" riser, other heights available.

We got some of these when our newest bed was just too darn low, they have been in place for 4-5 years now and held up fine. We don't weigh 10K, but that's a pretty hefty chunk of rubber.

My only concern with the riser approach to this is how much of a slant does she need. Seems to me any more than about a 4 inch version of this is going to make the bed unstable when placed under just the head of the bed.

Also, if the bed is large or substantial enough to have feet in the middle, those are going to be tough to get supported as well, making the stability issue even more pronounced perhaps?

mattress wedges work real well. We have MediWedge and also RefluxGuard. Although these are pricey, ones on Amazon should work just as well

Don't worry about the foam density. When they are under a mattress, the weight is spread across the whole surface and works well

My wife has reflux pretty bad and we’ve tried wedges before. With a wedge, you end up putting pressure on your hips, which may or may not be an issue. We had better results with 2x4 wooden blocks (nailed together if need be).

They make risers for college dorm room beds so the students have more room for storage under their beds.

A quick internet search found these for $14 for eight risers. Just use two of them at the head of the bed and you'd have a "heads up" incline.

If you’re looking at much of a headboard skip the bricks idea it looks terrible. Try the wedge.

That's cheaper than a couple of 2X4s nowadays...which is what I use.
