Auction sites or Goodwill? I picked up a SUPER heavy duty vintage Moose Creek 80/20 wool/nylon shirt / jacket for $20. It wanted careful washing, flat drying, but now rivals a $300 Pendleton.
Depending on the size you need, you might consider a M1951. A site called armysurpluswarehouse has them for $30 XS-M. I have had a medium for years, and it fits me well. I am 6'1" 170LB. They are heavy-duty.

I will have to second the M1951 wool shirt. I wore some while in the army, brought one home. then several years after getting out, found some at a surplus dealer in shotgun news. bought 10 of the for the great price of $1.50 each. gave a few away to friends who liked them. still fit me and are used every winter. Pendleton, Orvis LL Bean and a few others are a great deal on eBay if you shop carefully. I've bought a lot of them that appear to be unused and are often a great price.
I'm hoping to find a good deal this week, so I appreciate the suggestions. I know Filson makes good clothing, but are they worth the price over LL Bean and the others suggested?
