I solved the water problem buy buying a 5 gallon water dispenser. We drink a lot of water and it's much better tasting water than your tap or bottled water from the store. I always keep one on the dispenser and usually 3 or 4 refills on hand. Always have 15 to 25 gallons of good drinking water on hand at all times. If you ration properly that will go a long way. And because we use it daily it always gets rotated so it fresh.

Trouble with this preparedness stuff is you never know what to prepare for. If you are not home when disaster strikes all that stockpile at home does no good. Or if it's a tornado or hurricane and everything gets strewn for miles or buried and crushed under tons of rubble then what? A flood or civil unrest drives you out of your home? You will be pretty lucky to have the right kind of disaster strike where all your prep work pays off.

Having the food and water on hand that we do has nothing to do with being prepared for anything it's just the way we live. Now guns and ammo are just a hobby. Live prepared and you don't need to prepare to live.
