KevmoApple Store - Great Experience
My Dad is 90 years old and doing well for his age. He is active, healthy and still pretty sharp but he does tend to get himself in trouble once in a while, mostly with his computer, which is his link to the outside world.
He has an older iMac which is fine for what he uses it for and every once in a while he somehow screws up a setting and needs help. I can usually walk him through it over the phone but a few weeks ago he had some issues and couldn't reach me so he loaded it up in his truck and headed to the Apple Store near his home.
They were able to fix his issues and carried out to his car for him....They spent an hour working on it and refused to charge him a dime. Even more impressive it my Dad basically lobbed a softball at them asking if he needed a new machine and he would have bought a new iMac if they said so but they assured him that his was fine.
After I spoke to him i made it a point to call the manager of the store and thank him for his staff's actions but I left out the no charge part in case he was unaware of that tid bit.
It's always nice to see good customer service still exists

architectIn my experience, this is not atypical of an Apple Store.

Angus the KidMy son had a hard drive that went tits up on his Mac. It was at the end of his Apple Care plan. They replaced the hard drive and basically everything else including the keyboard and touch pad. It was basically a new computer when they were done. Completely free.

Jimbo54I've never had a reason to go to an Apple store but it's always nice to hear of great customer service and customer interactions.
You did good by calling them and letting them know how you felt.
Jim

cparktdMy Grandson knocked my still in warrenty high end MacBook Pro off the table and completly shattered the display. I think he stepped on it after knocking it down. I explained to them exactly what happened and did not ask for, nor did I expect, a warranty repair. The repair estimate came to ~$650, to witch I agreed.
When I went to pick it up a week later, credit card in hand, they handed it over and then said... by the way we waved the repair charge, have a nice day!
Years later, the same laptop ceased working and I took it in. They replaced the motherboard, ram, and the hard drive, and cloned my old drive to the new one. Charged me only about 350 bucks, parts and labor. I thought that was more then fair. It's a 2011 model and I still use it every day.
I find that if you go in hat in hand and ask if there is any way they can help you get much better results than if you charge in complaining and making demands.
Endeavor to persevere. April 11, 2018, 05:52 AM

Skins2881Only been in one, once. IPad was freezing up. Spent two hours there 1:45 of which was waiting. In the end they said I had corrupted files and the whole thing had to be wiped clean and I couldn't restore from the iCloud because they didn't know which files were corrupted. Then I spent another hour emailing myself files from the machine. They wiped the drive and I emailed and downloaded all of the important files back onto it. Total time, six hours plus.
That was the day I decided I will never own a Apple product again.
