Exactly! I feel a little bad, as I actually smiled when I heard her crying, and my exact thought was "good, stupid should hurt".

This!

That said, unbelievably stupid. The zoo has already announced that the jaguar will not be put down.

I’m shocked they felt the need to announce that. That kitty could have opened a can of whoop-ass on her. That was the equivalent of a light cuff on the back of the head from a buddy. She’s darned lucky her stupidity didn’t hurt a whole lot more than it did...

She's damn lucky all she got was a 'get the fuck away' swipe. She'll have a souvenir to go with her tramp-stamp.

You climb over the barrier, you assume the risk.

Kitty was in a cage for a reason and that reason is not to make taking selfies easier.

Cell phones with cameras are like magnifying glasses for stupidity.

That is one beautiful animal. The Jaguar of course. Darwin gets his share although he missed this one he got two others last week.

There were two stories in the news one where a lion killed his owner who kept it on his ranch or something and the other was a elephant who sat on a guy. The guy was trying to get the elephant to sit in a pool of water to bathe it.
He was trying to get the elephant to sit by whacking his back leg with a stick. The elephant sat alright but when he did he rolled his ass over to the side where the guy was whacking him. SQUISH.....

I think it would be appropriate in this case for the Jaguar to be rewarded for demonstrating great restraint and be returned to it's natural habitat in the wild. The woman should take it's place in the enclosure with a sign that details the epic stupidity of her actions.

Personally I hate zoo's. You can see the depression on the faces and in the body language of most of the animals in there.

Laying down like she took 00 buckshot to the gut. It is a large cut on your arm. News flash, your legs are not broken. Get up, get some stitches and proclaim from the highest mountaintop what an idiot you are. After you check for mountain lions, for selfie purposes of course.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

This lady needs a friend or family member with at least part of a brain so she can be taken out only on a leash. Otherwise Darwin will get another chance at her in the near future.

This was on NBC news the other night, they warned the video was graphic but blurred the injury. Roll Eyes

So she learned that cuddly kitty is really a killing machine with a bad attitude that doesn't like tourists or selfies. Good life lesson there, if you're a total idiot.

A few years back my daughter and I went to a local zoo that has a couple of Siberian tigers - they are in the WWF tiger breeding programme.

One of these VERY big cats took a standing jump straight up nine or ten feet onto a platform without turning a whisker. I asked one of keepers just how much it weighed - oh, around 450 pounds, we haven't weighed her so far this month as she's a bit hissy - we think she might be pregnant...

Sooo, I'm thinking that after watching the full video of the aftermath that.... it hurts. Is that substantively correct?

Apparently now she has publicly apologized for being in the wrong and I am sure every attorney in that area is trying to get a gag order for her!
