Black92LXDoes this style of case exist for a single rifle???
A top loading rifle case like this but for a single rifle? Looking for the smallest case possible.
Would be so much more conducive to a vehicle taking up less space and not needing a large area to open the case.

12131For a single rifle, then it would just be a case that lays out flat, wouldn’t it? I wouldn’t think anybody making the one you’re looking for, one with a tiny lid.

lymanwell, they did years ago,
kinda
called a Transit Chest,
No 4 T's , are a good example,
Freelands made some for Smallbore guys,
and others as well,
no idea if the black polymer/plastic with foam is a modern option

Like that but a hard case? A quick search for "Top loading single rifle case" only came up with that soft sided case. Maybe send the image to Pelican and ask if they have any plans to make a hard case version.

$300 they sure are proud of that!
A Boyt is about the same size just hard plastic and only $130.
It’s the smallest I can find that will fit a 36” OAL rifle.
But again want a vertical top load style so it’s tall and skinny and does not take a ton of space to open.

sjtillKalispel cases makes a double case in vertical style; they would make you a custom case but $$$.

honestlouAssuming you realize that a case as you described is going to want to lay flat. You would have to have a very specific loading configuration for that to be the best way to access a rifle.
Perhaps a Kolpin case that opens on the end? Not what you asked for, but perhaps an option that could work for you.

As long as the bottom is flat it would not want to lay on its side. Just like the picture I posted illustrated lid is hinged on the top and you place the rifle in with the optic up there is no reason it would want to lay/fall on its side.
You’re just cutting it down by three quarters
