From the linked article: Trafficking a person for a commercial sex act (A Felony) and trafficking a person for a commercial sex act (B Felony). Which crime depends on age of victim and probable sex acts they wished to do. If the suspect is emailing/texting the "juvenile" (agent/officer presenting themselves as an underage child) directly it is Child Enticement. If the suspect is emailing/texting the "pimp" who is presenting/controlling the child for sex it is Trafficking A Person. |

I suspect whatever it was they were planning had the "girls" crossing state lines. |

Let's be careful out there
| this is a big deal up here. there's actually a concerted social work and law enforcement effort. Lots of these girls are runaways or throwaways, or released from a facility to uncaring guardians. Goys prowl for these girls like pimps used t troll for new hookers. |

10mm is The Boom of Doom
| Since the female had to travel it was trafficking. Even walking across a road could be considered travel. It sounds to me like johns are being up-charged with statutes intended to stop human smuggling and sex slavery. A bit of a stretch IMHO.

I suppose it depends on the conversation. Example A: Guy is into underage girls. Girl says she needs money. Guy offers her $100. Example B: Guy is into underage girls. Girl says she needs money. Guy offers her $100. Girl says she needs $1,000. Guy says he has 9 friends he can hook her up with. I honestly have no idea how the law defines this, but I'm assuming if they were charged, it fit the definition. These stings tend to do a pretty good job of leading those charged well beyond the point of having wiggle room. |

Big deal down here too. We've seen a sharp increase in underage prostitution and trafficking in the past few years. |

Perhaps, but adults are also victims. It's forced prostitution regardless of their age. Could be bad reporting, but the article said: quote: Over the three-day period, special agents posing as juvenile girls posted ads on BackPage.com.

Let's be careful out there
| I know a couple of agents close to retirement who are professional teenage girls, so to speak, on the web. They're trying to lure the bad guys to meets at motels. They catch a lot of them. |
