Water came in good today. Another 4-6” would have put it into my rental apartment and shop. Got 2ft more than predicted. My main living area is raised 15ft

Hopefully the bottom doesn’t drop out of it tonight. Cleaning up Roseau Cane Debris is much easier when floating

If you live in areas that have hurricanes it becomes part of life. Between tropical storms and hurricanes I’ve been through that three times in the last 20 years.

Got lucky with this one. Looks like you're facing a lot of water? There'd be no defense in a bad one.

Decades ago we lived in Mantaloking New Jersey across the street from the bay. A hurricane was coming and a fire truck came through telling us to evacuate. We didn't. It was a nasty storm and the eye of the hurricane went directly over the house.

We got lucky. I'm pretty sure during Hurricane Sandy we'd a been up to our chest + in water.

We were in the Northeast Quadrant on the Gulf Coast. Closer to Category one hurricane. Over eight inches of rain in a few hours. Strong East wind blew good bit of water into the office. Six foot storm surge in Pass Christian which is typical for a hurricane not tropical storm.

What in the hell is that guy in the silver vehicle out n about for? Maybe he had a legit emergency, but I once rescued an old man walking the 1/4 mile from the bus stop to the mall just so he can do his daily walk during a blizzard. A legit blizard with temps below zero.

The gentleman who built the house in mid 60’s had a 60ft sailboat. He installed the davit crane so he could do maintenance on it. Also why there are triple piles further out he tied off to I’ve had one set removed as they had rotted

I see it as protection from large floating objects during storms that have have broken loose

Our Mayor decided to issue a voluntary evacuation AFTER there was already 2ft+ water in the streets

Floods attract people, it happens every time. Very rarely it’s people needing to go anywhere.

Missed me again. In 2005 when hurricane Katrina came thru it went to my east side and missed me but in 2016 a tropical storm came thru and stalled out for several days and dumped 33inches of rain just north of me which put 41inches of flood waters in our house . That incident put 7 parishes(counties) in major flood recovery mode . Sorry to see it happen but untill "you walk it in my shoes"it is a different story. .............drill sgt.
