If one traces their roots back one generation (say, born 25 years before), there are two direct ancestors (mom and dad). At two generations (say 50 years), there are four (maternal grandmother and grandfather, paternal grandmother and grandfather). Those to whom we are directly connected doubles with each successive generation we go back. Assuming that each generation is 20 to 25 years, going back 400 years to the time of the Mayflower, that's roughly 16 to 20 generations. With her being in her 70s, let's say roughly 16 generation from her birth or 2 to the 16th power (2^16) or 65,536 people who contributed DNA to what she became (assuming there were no intermarriages between distant relatives along the way).

Angela Davis is taken aback and embarrassed about being descended from someone on the Mayflower? We at the end of an ancestral line, Miss Davis, have absolutely no say in the matter of our origin, only on where we're going. If somehow given the opportunity, I suspect that the overwhelming number of those 65,536 people from whom you descended would be even more taken aback and horrified at the evil deed that you and your cohorts committed.

Realistically, at her age, she is more of a figurehead of the radical Marxist Black Power/ BLM movement than an actual leader, and any possible loss of her street cred due to having white ancestors will be quickly balanced by her terrorist actions and time spent in prison.

I just enjoy watching her reaction and rejection when she is forced to reconsider how she identifies herself and how she sees herself. Actually, she's worse than that. As a descendant of slave owners, she has to assume their "guilt" as much or even more than "white people." None of my ancestors came to this country before slavery was abolished, but her's did. Why should I carry "white guilt", when my immigrant family was just as poor and (as Jews) discriminated against as her black (freed) ancestors were. Meantime, her white family members profited, so perhaps she should have to pay MORE than I should, rather than simply being denied reparation benefits as suggested.

My wife is a direct descendant 10th great granddaughter of a mayflower passenger. Turns out this woman had like 10 kids and 400 years later theres 10’s of thousands of descendants off this one person and an estimated 1mm people living in US and Canada of mayflower descent. Add this commie to the list. That factoid and a 5$ will get you a coffee. But was interesting when kids are in school every thanksgiving.
