My father gave me his darto dart board that he had for the last 35 years for my game room/bar.

At the moment I only have three of the metal and plastic darts thanks to my youth and my friends and I throwing them at everything and each other.
I’m looking to replace them with actual wooden darts with the feathers. I do remember the originals having a red band around them.

Is there a reputable company to purchase some new wooden darts online as our barstools and billiards closed a few years ago.

Sounds like a fun project.

Dart technology has changed a lot in 35 years.

If you're thinking about taking the sport semi-seriously, as opposed to just recreating your father's setup for nostalgia (and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that) then if at all possible, I'd recommend you try to get to a dart shop in person, and try some of the modern stuff out. The good shops have boards set up and sample darts to throw, and there is a wide range to try. Weights, size, grip types (knurling), materials (generally tungsten, to get weight while not being too thick to allow close groupings (you do want all three darts to fit in that same triple-20, now, dontcha Wink )

In addition to the darts themselves, you may want to invest in some wall protection behind/around the board so that any errant throws don't add character to the wall.

Not that I've ever personally thrown and missed the entire board/cabinet. Nope, nope, nope...seen friends do it, though....yep. Wink

Thanks for the input. Currently the couple other guys that throw all use wooden darts as well, but got the last of the darts locally.

Here are a couple pics of the game room with the dart board. Next I’ll be in the hunt for a nice pool table.

Thanks it’s been a long time coming of working on it on the weekends. It was a workshop the previous owner had in the pole barn for building model airplanes.

You may want to go to an Irish pub to try darts on hand. I donated my 1979-1983 darts to my local pub. So many choices. As I recall the bristle dart board was the best. Especially since you could rotate the scoring number array to even out the divots at the ideal scoring areas like triple 20.

Aha! I missed the OP's clue: Darto. That is American style darts vs English darts. Here is a link to the association: American Darts.

I see evidence of mountain lion, turkey, deer raccoon, cow, and ducks along with the dart board ... What have I missed? What an awesome room and you have made it to look comfy and welcoming. Great job!

Very nice room, but I wouldn't want to be sitting in the leather recliner during a darts game!
