I saw these at my upscale grocery yesterday and bought a 4 oz package for $4. They were delicious! Not sure whether the shrooms or my new prep method gets the credit – maybe both.

My new prep method:
* I chopped the shrooms into fairly small pieces and put ’em into my Bialetti 8” nonstick fry pan.
* I dissolved some Marmite in hot water and poured it over the shrooms. Marmite is to savory as sugar is to sweet. Added fresh ground black pepper and cumin. Stirred all together.
* I set the Bialetti into my Breville Smart Grill, preheated to 440 °F, and closed its top over the Bialetti. The steam cooks all evenly.
* After eight minutes, most of the water had evaporated.
* Removed the Bialetti and ate the shrooms right out of the pan – so good!
