Kawasaki ZX14R aftermarket exhaust ????? Login/Join

I just bought a 2017 Kawasaki ZX14R and I'm looking to get rid of the stock exhaust and add aftermarket slip-ons. What I've discovered is most aftermarket exhaust are required to be repacked every 7000 miles or so. My question is what happens to the exhaust if you don't repack it. Other than Akrapovic are their other aftermarket exhaust that doesn't require repacking? The Akrapovic slip-ons are nice but at close to 2 grand way out of my price range. I don't enjoying doing maintenance so I don't want the hassle of drilling out rivets, repacking the muffler, and then reinstalling the muffler.

Congrats on the new bike. Have you had any time riding it yet? The ZX14R is one of the few bikes that I am currently interested in. Looking forward to reading your impressions.

I've had the bike for a little over a week but it's been to cold to ride in my atea, it was even to cold to ride it home so I had to rent a trailer to get the bike home. Nows the time to buy if you're interested in getting one. MSRP for the ZX14R ABS SE is 15500, dealership had it marked down to 11700 and I had a coupon from Kawasaki for 500 so I got the bike for 11200.

I've been searching for a second bike since July, looked at Aprilia Tuono, Ducati Multistrada and Monster 1200, BMW S1000R and XR, Triumph Speed Triple, KTM Super Duke but the ZX14R provided the best bang for the buck in price and performance. You can add risers for a more upright riding position, peg lowering kit and saddle bags to convert the bike to a comfortable sport touring bike. Lots of other modifications available to increase performance, not that the ZX14R needs more performance but options are there if you want them. I'm dying to get some mIles in but the weather in PA has to cooperate first. As soon as I can ride I'll update this thread.
