So I’m not a karaoke guy. Probably sung five karaoke songs in my life (most if not all under the influence).. But I do have one song I sing when forced into a karaoke situation. Rhinestone Cowboy. Not sure how this became my song, but years ago I decided it was. Every time I hear it on the radio my boots get to tapping. I think back to that day in the Idaho bar when my buddy and I were buzzed enough on Moose Drool to hit the stage. I did Rhinestone Cowboy and then we did a duet of American Pie. It wasn’t the best rendition for either of us…

But those were the younger days. I still love Rhinestone Cowboy. I still sing it out loud when it comes on the radio and I know all the words. I still tap my toes.

C’mon, you can tell us, we’re all friends here…what’s your karaoke song? Smile (PS I would look GREAT in that shirt he has on...)

Love Shack.

Short version: on a work trip to Germany a bunch of years ago, [ex-] Mrs and I ended up in a neat bar in Cologne on a Thursday night. One of the young ladies working there kept offering us the karaoke menu (is that called a menu?) and I kept refusing.

After a beer or two, I headed to the restroom. As soon as I got back, the bar lady handed me a lyric sheet, smiled sweetly, and [in cute-as-could-be] heavily accented English said, "you're up!" [Ex-] Mrs had signed me up while I was gone!

We got on up there, and one of the waiters hopped up on stage with us and helped with the chorus. All's well that ends well, right? I won 20 marks, just enough to buy another pitcher. Cool

People ask me now to sing... my standard answer is that I'm absolutely not far enough from home to do that again. Razz

God bless America.

I've done karaoke exactly once - on a business trip to China in 2000. After a very nice dinner, we went to the karaoke room where I embarrassed myself trying to sing a Beach Boys song. Someone finally felt sorry for me and helped out. But, those Chinese guys took their karaoke very seriously! And they were all damn good at it! All American songs, mostly 60's music, and all sung in English. Had trouble understanding their English during the day, but come karaoke time, it was flawless.

My one karaoke song (after 5 Heinekens) was Journey's Don't Stop Believin.

The song went very well (sang it with four friends); the crowd loved it. The rest of the night was...not so good.

Ever since watching Guardians, I've been hooked on the song Mr Blue Sky from ELO. Watching Groot dance gives me a chuckle.

I sing like a hound dog. The only karaoke I've ever done was Bruce Springsteen's "Fire", in the style of Robin Williams/Elmer Fudd.

I can usually muddle through any project I take on, even stuff I have never done before, after some research. I have done professional looking , hardwood floors, tiled floors, and done finish carpentry, worked on all kinds of cars, all the electric in our new house to pass code inspection, but I can promise you----YOU DO NOT WANT ME TO GET UP ON THAT STAGE!!!!

I was called to the stage at a bar mitzvah in an attempt to embarrass me to sing "I've Got You Babe" to my wife. One of those moments where everything just goes right and I killed it. Only time I ever did karoke and it was under duress.
