Michael Horowitz,Department of Justice (DOJ) inspector general, has been conducting a sprawling probe of the FBI’s handling of the 2016 investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server. His full report, which could set off shockwaves, is expected by the early spring.
Horowitz also uncovered a series of text messages between FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page
Horowitz oversees a department of nearly 500 employees who are responsible for investigating waste, fraud, abuse and misconduct within the Justice Department.
they keep him busy
He is best remembered in his current role for coming down hard on regional officials at Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for the infamous “Fast and Furious” operation in which officials allowed the illegal sale of firearms in a botched effort to track Mexican drug cartels.
Just six months into the job, Horowitz issued a report eviscerating law enforcement officials in Arizona for a “significant lack of oversight” and disregard for “the safety of individuals in the United States and Mexico.”
Horowitz also clashed with the Obama administration over Justice and the FBI bucking requests for documents from the inspector general’s office.

They always do. "Beyond the pale" was one of my favorites from a few months ago.

He keeps claiming how inaccurate the R memo was and stating that their memo should be released "UN-redacted". Well hell, the D's took 3-4 days to write a rebuttal memo that, by all accounts, the R's spent 3-4 weeks to draft. They took that long specifically to avoid the necessity for redaction's. Don't put something in it that needs to be redacted and that will end that conversation, you douche-nozzle.
Unlike the R memo, the D memo made it out of committee with a unanimous vote, things that make you go hmmm...
I must say, Schiff looks to be a world class liar, right up there with WJC.
Edit: It wouldn't surprise me in the least if they booby-trap it with classified information that needs to be redacted, just so they can claim there isn't an equal playing field. Then the R's would be stuck explaining when they quit beating theirs wives...
Aaaand, just like that, I'm hearing that's exactly what he did. I guess we'll know for sure, soon enough.

If Carter Page was claimed to be a foreign agent for the FISA warrants,
that not only gets his phone calls going forward, it gets all of his email going backward, plus it allows the FBI to break into his home, search it, and plant electronics when he is not there
back on page 51 is a Sen Grassley memo with heavy redaction. This memo is expected to bring Corey Shearer and Jonathan Winer into the picture
here is Grassley ltr to wray

Awesome the FBI used Isikoff's article to corrobate the dossier and
the FBI told the court that it did not believe Steele had given Isikoff any info for his article.
it's Xmas. Ohr told the FBI about Steele's passion to keep Trump from being president. The FBI didn't pass that to the court.
(I am so pumped I may have to come back and clean up some of this.)

It looks like quite a bit of the original Grassley Graham memo has been unredacted.
Cool.
Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.
When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson
"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

I am seeing nothing anywhere in the news (except Fox) about Grassley' memo
It is a bomb shell
What Nunes and Grassley memos tell us
Clinton funded the Steele dossier
News media were briefed on the dossier in Sept 2016 (before the election)
Micahel Isikoff (Yahoo News) publishes a story based on the dossier but focuses on the Carter Page part of the dossier (23 Sep 2016)
Oct 2016: The FBI/DoJ go to FISC court for a warrant on Carter Page. They use the dossier and the Isikoff news story as the basis to call Carter Page a Russian foreign agent.
The FBI says the dossier material was NOT used for the Isikoff article. (It was)
Court grants the warrant
******************
When Adam Schiff announced that the FISA warrant application only used the part of the dossier that talked about Carter Page, that caught me by surprise. It seemed like a setback in our arguments. But after thinking about it, consider this:
The FBI based their warrant entirely on the dossier. They said Christopher Steele was credible. But the material they stripped from the dossier was the wild stuff:
- Trump had prostitutes pee in the bed that obama slept in
- Russians had material to blackmail Trump
- Trump attorney Michael Cohen played a key role in the Trump campaign / Kremlin relationship
So the FISC court didn’t see any of the things that seemed pretty far out.
The FBI did NOT verify anything in the dossier.

apologies for posting so much
but does anyone find it odd that Isikoff in Sept 2016 just writes about Carter Page. Nothing else from the dossier.
Then in Oct 2016 when the FBI goes to FISC, they only show the Carter Page part of the dossier.
It sounds like there was a coordinated effort to make the 2 documents line up w no hint of the more extreme parts of Steele's reporting.
