Both doughnuts and ice cream are of the "Universal" food group. They go with anything.

I'll tell you what's even better. Last weekend I had an oreo Belgian waffle that was to die for. They made a regular fresh Belgian waffle, dropped chunks of the black cookie all over the top of it and made a cream out of the filling that was lined over the top of the waffle.

I may not be a smart monkey, but I know what good is.

Not my monkey, not my zoo.

You should already have the ice cream group, check the freezer. It keeps well. If you've got to go out and buy more you pick up some donuts on the same trip. Don't buy too many or they'll get stale. They tend to lose their goodness in about a week.

No, I've never tried freezing them. I'm guessing they get in the way of fun if you try to merge them with the other main food group, beer.

Normal folks tend to lose their youthful figure if they eat a dozen donuts, a half gallon of ice cream, a pound of bacon and a 12 pack. That or they lose their lunch. Too much of a good thing could get ugly.

A fresh bakery plain donut, or with cinnamon and sugar, or apple cider donut. Add just enough maple syrup to start to float the donut. Warm slightly. It's a little sweet, so recommend a little ice cream after to cleanse the palate.

I have to go to Pub-A-Licks today. They have donuts. They have ice cream.

I could be all in from one simple trip.

Dunkin' Donuts and Baskin-Robbins ice cream are owned by the same company.

Around here, many (most?) Dunkin' Donuts locations contain a Baskin-Robbins ice cream counter.

The major problem: Maple Walnut is not a standard Baskin-Robbins flavor.

On the other hand, as ArtieS said, Publix has both donuts and ice cream. A full half gallon of really good Publix Premium maple walnut is still only $4.50. Or $3.50 when it's on sale.

Signing out now, I'm heading to Publix.
