Rotary mower on 3pt hitch question.
So I am pretty well hooked up. The question is when I raise the mower it pretty much raises the front of the mower but only slightly so on the very back by the trailing wheel. I want the whole mower to raise off the ground. Is this a top link mounting issue and adjustment of that link?

It is a land pride mower.

Thanks guys.

It does sound like a top link is too far out. The triangular attachment frame should be pretty much straight when set up right. If you have one of the manual adjusters with the threaded lock tab, they will sometimes loosen up.

Should be, I was having that issue with our hunt club tractor and deck. I disconnected, made the link a little shorter, and then was good to go with whole deck and rear wheel off the ground driving back to camp.

Yes.

ETA: Many PTO mowers use the top link as a cut height adustment so your adjustment may be a trade off between ground clearance when up, and cutting height. If you like your grass short, you might want to pay close attention when making adjustments.

It's really 3 adjustments... the wheel height, the top link and the attachment bar length. You need to look at all three and make sure they are correct. The top link is more to level the mower from front to back. Wheel height adjusts how low it will go in the rear and then the attachment bars adjust how well it matches wheel height.

There may be multiple points on the tractor to attach the "bottom" of the top link as well. If there are two or three holes where the toplink can be attached to the tractor, the lowest hole will give the highest lift to the attachment.
