Tuesday August-17-1965 Operation Starlite Seventh Regimental Land Team composed of 2nd Bn 4th Marines,3rd Bn 3rd Marines, 3rd Bn 7th Marines and supporting units. Of the first three Marine Medal of Honor recipients for Viet-Nam two would be for Starlite. Fifty-two years later it still give me pause to think about those we lost with tears in my eyes.

Were you on Starlight? At least three of the cadre officers for my TBS class were in that fight, one had a silver star, all of them described it as a shit storm.

Yes I was there a 19Yr old PFC at the time.
