I'm curious, does a brazen broad daylight thief qualify for street cred if he knocks himself out during the escape attempt? What are the rules on commemorating a heist like this in local lore? Do they still get to have a rap hip hop song written about the time he Wile E. Coyote'd himself right into a plate glass window and dropped the loot? Brazen teenage thief, 17, knocks himself out by running into glass door as he tries to flee Louis Vuitton store with $18,000 worth of handbags By Ruth Bashinsky For Dailymail.Com 17:18 EST 07 Nov 2022 , updated 17:28 EST 07 Nov 2022 • The 17-year-old suspect is seen running straight into the boutique's glass plate window with stolen handbags in tow before falling to the ground • The two female accomplices got away during the incident that took place in broad daylight back in August • The suspect, a juvenile whose name was not released, was arrested and later released to a family member, a Bellevue police spokesperson told DailyMail.com A brazen-faced thief knocked himself unconscious while trying to make a quick getaway after stealing more than $18,000 worth of merchandise at the Louis Vuitton store in the affluent Seattle suburb of Bellevue, Washington. In the video, the 17-year-old suspect is seen slamming straight into the boutique's glass plate window with stolen handbags in tow before falling to the ground. Two female accomplices managed to get away during the bizarre incident that took place in August at the luxury retailer. Loss prevention detained the teen assailant, who was not alert but semi-conscious and breathing when officers arrived, Bellevue Police Department Public Information Officer, Meeghan Black told DailyMail.com. The suspect was then arrested and later released to a family member at the hospital, Black said. Prosecutors say the name of the thief was not released because he is a juvenile, and part of a retail crime theft ring, Fox News reported. The brazen thief attempts to walk out of the Louis Vuitton store with more than $18,000 in stolen merchandise The suspect runs into the boutique's glass window as he tried to make his getaway. His two female accomplices were long gone Loss prevention detained the teen assailant, who was not alert but semi-conscious and breathing when officers arrived, Bellevue Police Department Public Information Officer, Meeghan Black told DailyMail.com The police spokesperson said there has been an uptick in crime and organized retail theft in multiple locations around the city. The robbery at the Louis Vuitton store took place in August but the video is still circulating on social media. 'Bellevue is a suburb of Seattle, a fairly wealthy suburb with high-end shops and access to the freeway, so it makes us an easy target,' she said. Since the bust, an anti-crime initiative was recently launched, Black explained that uses real-time data so the authorities are able to track when a crime is happening. 'The police department in partnership with loss prevention of these stores have teamed up for higher visibility and undercover operations inside the stores to target these prolific thieves,' she said. 'We have had significant success.' Good, fuck him. I hope he got brain damage. Bellevue, if you don't know, is like the cleaner, rizty, really expensive little suburb of Seattle where all the really wealthy went to live. Microsoft is there. They had riots there in 2020. This particular store is in The Shops At The Bravern, Maydenbauer Center, across the street from Microsoft. I was next door looking at Seamasters earlier this year at the Omega Boutique. They had a security guy at the door who I had to speak to in order to get in. There's a Gucci next door to that and an Hermes behind the LV. To say they targeted one of the most expensive spots in the area would be an understatement. ______________________________________________ “There are plenty of good reasons for fighting, but no good reason ever to hate without reservation, to imagine that God Almighty Himself hates with you, too.”

If you watch the video, when the women run out, there’s a guy outside the door with some type of badge on. Security I can only assume. He didn’t even raise an eyebrow about them hauling ass out the door. That guy should be fired. When you watch the kid hit the window, it looks like he was headed toward the door and loss prevention was headed to cut him off. When he hits the window, you see him drop his shoulder like he thought he would just crash through it. What is kind of odd, is that every time I have ever been to a LV store (which has been many times) they always have a loss prevention person at the door, in a suit and tie, acting as a doorman. Have mercy on us old guys. Put a warning in the title something like PB4 because I nearly pissed myself laughing. That schmuck thought he’d up his escape by crashing out a window. And from a budding young materials science PhD candidate. Someone tell him glass is actually a viscous liquid. He tries to steal $18,000 in merchandise and is released to a family member. No wondering this is happening, no consequences. It’s not like he was trying to take a candy bar. ________________________ "Don't mistake activity for achievement." John Wooden, "Wooden on Leadership"

You would think with this type of crime happening around the country the hand bags would be more secure. The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution. As I have said before, the juvenile justice system in this country is geared toward kids stealing hubcaps off of cars or a loaf of bread from the grocery store because his younger siblings were hungry, not this, let alone assault and even murder.

Lock his ass up for twenty years Seems like there is an excess of genuinely stupid people up there, most of them in city, county and state government. You want bold thieves ripping you off every day and not getting punished? Congratulations, goal achieved. I hope that little bastard tries to rob a convenience store and gets shot 36 times.

They've been allowed to do this for quite some time. Didn't take long and they moved on from Rite-Aid and Target. More and more stores around here with plywood over a door or window. They just smash them out or drive a car through it and clean the place out in the middle of the night. Snatching ATM's is getting popular. Police response for property crimes is almost non-existent. My buddy had his pick up snatched from in front of the shop. Two weeks later they called and said they found it and gave him the location. He went there expecting to find it stripped and torched but it was still in one piece with a junkie in it. He called them back and told them someone was in it and they told him that when they found it it was empty and can't come out right now.. So he hung up and took it back the hard way. It can be a double edged sword with the police not showing up.

The merchants perpetuate it by just amortizing the 'shrink' in inventory into the price of the products.

I watched this a few times, getting more and more annoyed with the so-called 'security' guy standing there watching it. I could almost lip-read him saying 'Have a nice day, y'all' as the getaway gals made their escape. However, I'm full of admiration for the young entrepreneur testing out the stores safety-glass security arrangement. Maybe he's found his life's employment niche? Meanwhile, more seriously, it do really give me the cheers to see POS like that get hoist on their own petard. A few years back, a similarly posh jewelry store in Sheffield got robbed by a young man in a great hurry, like this one. Having grabbed a counter-top Casio watch display he ran out of the door, made a smart left turn and met a local streetcar head-on. Happy days, eh?

Is it wrong of me to wish this video had audio to go with it? I've heard animals and objects hit windows before, so I can only imagine how much more of an impact sound he would've made. If I had the skill, it would almost be worth it to edit in some sound effects, maybe even throw in a few Batman TV series dialogue balloons like "Bam", "Wam", "Doink", "Pow" etc... and then loop the moment of impact.

Several problems here. First as been pointed out, every state in the union has had the legislature decide that they don’t care about juvenile justice. Because of this hands off approach, virtually all of the high end crime and shootings are committed by juveniles. Secondly, most businesses have xx loss built into the bottom line. For instance, one of the local Walmart’s have 1.2 million in loss figured in. If they keep it below 1.2, the manager gets a bonus. This for the most part means that locations only need/want a police report to document the loss, and they move on. They really have zero interest in helping solve the crime. This means they don’t have to pay employees to go to court, pay other employees to cover, etc. this worked out great for the local PD. When they stopped investigating larcenies are the big box stores, their part 2 theft numbers looked great. Retail theft went waaaaayyyyy down. So, the thieves get a pass, the store writes it off, and the cops have lower part 2 crimes. Win, win, win.
