I re-watched ”Band of Brothers” over the past 4 days. Amazing how this country has changed in 80 years. Kind of scary to think on how much farther it will go before the pendulum swings the other way and corrections are made.

At 60yo, I just hope I am around enough to see it.

You'd be surprised how many service members have degrees from "schools" like University of Phoenix, American Military University, Kaplan, Excelsior, University of Maryland Global Campus, Purdue Global, etc.

In the real world, no one has heard of those schools but for the military, it checks the box for promotion. Not saying one can't get beyond O3 without a graduate degree as many have but many O4+ I know have that box checked. A few even have PhDs or JDs or are doctors/dentists. I finished a 2 week course back in January with a small group of 16 field grade officers. All but 2 had a graduate degree.
