Casting aside the recommendation of his defense secretary, President Biden on Friday nominated Admiral Lisa Franchetti to command the US Navy. If confirmed, she would be the first woman to command a military branch and the first on the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Biden's move took many observers by surprise, as Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin had recommended Admiral Samuel Paparo for the position. Paparo is TOPGUN graduate with more than 6,000 hours in F-14s, F-15s and F/A-18s, 1,100 carrier landings and experience commanding forces in war zones.

However, with the Biden administration obsessed with diversity hires, Paparo's bid was likely doomed by the fact that he's a white man.

“Throughout her career, Adm. Franchetti has demonstrated extensive expertise in both the operational and policy arenas,” said Biden in a statement. He of course couldn't help but emphasize her gender: “She is the second woman ever to achieve the rank of four-star admiral in the United States Navy.”

Though his recommendation wasn't heeded, Austin praised Franchetti, saying "She will continue to inspire all of us." Biden's choice of a woman to lead the Navy comes 15 months after he picked a woman to command the Coast Guard.

As for Paparo, Biden nominated him on Friday to lead Indo-Pacific Command, which has an area of responsibility spanning about 52% of the the Earth's surface.

That's all well and good, but, if he wants a shot at the Navy's top job the next time it comes open, he might consider coming out as trans.

It is a bone head move not to heed your secretary of defense recommendations

As a 25+ year military veteran, my opinion is if they are capable of the job I don’t care about personal factors like gender, sexual orientation what church they go to etc.
but the key is capability!
I have worked with women who were great soldiers guys who were not and vice versa

But a promotion based solely on gender is not right

I’m not so sure. It’s pretty clear this guy does not even know where he is at any given time. I honestly think he is being directed every step of the way at this point, just look at his cue cards they keep seeing him with.

Totally agree. The guy is a puppet. An absolute disaster. But, when the time comes to blame, the finger has to be pointed at someone concrete (Biden), not at some unknown behind-the-scene shadows. The buck stops with Biden.

He's clearly a puppet, but that doesn't excuse him one little bit. He doesn't know what he's doing? Fuck that. There's enough there that he knows exactly the harm he's creating. This is who Biden has always been: a slimy, corrupt, opportunist without a shred of integrity who blows with the wind.

He's less coherent now, gets lost at his own house, and is probably shitting his pants daily, but make no mistake, he knows he's pandering when he makes these decisions. Because that's how he's always been.

Here's the point, a Joe Biden 20 years younger, but in today's democrat party, would be making the exact same choices he's made as the Joe Biden of today. The only difference is he wouldn't fumble his words or lose his train of thought as much, and the White House would be spending less money on diapers.

Is this about votes? Or money? Or what does Biden get out of this appointment? And who supports it - women? Are women going to be happy as, say, Russian or Chinese citizens? Or as citizens of a socialist dictatorship?

What has made the country strong is being chipped away. These people should be more careful about what they wish for.

The Biden regime pulled the same crap recently siding with Macron over who would be the new head of NATO.They insulted our oldest ally by ignoring the recommendation to appoint British MOD chief Ben Wallace, instead backing a female EU globalist like Mette Frederiksen or Ursula von der Leyen - neither of whom wanted the job. Making a replacement has been postponed a year.
