So my wonderful wife and videographer went out to the powerline trail today. Mrs. Cooker had a great time filming, and loves the replies people leave. I underestimated the trail. Have the first scar on the skid plate, and the bumper support is a little off kilter. This happens just after the 5 minute mark. I was choosing the hardest line, and should have spotted it prior to proceeding. I wish the videos did justice for just how rugged a trail it is. I hope you all enjoy.

One thing I've thought of for some of the Alaskan road trips I've been doing is mounting a GoPro inside the truck to record some to it from a driver's point of view.

I would like to do that as well. The thing that I don’t like about video on all these trails, is that it makes everything look so much less than it is. It just takes away from the difficulty of what is really happening. I know that others that off road know this and when watching videos, I just wish it looked more how it really is when you have eyes on it.

^^^^^^^^^^^ I did not see anything that would suggest that this is easy. I fully appreciate the difficulty. The trick is in making things that are difficult look easy.

Looks fun! If you ever get a chance to take Casner Mountain Trail, DO IT! Bonus points if there is an available spot in the group for me. It's been far too long since I've been up it.
cool. some parts looked pretty dicey. i don’t like obstacles that tilt the vehicle in the direction of a long way down.
you should get your wife a drone so that you can record from inside instead of her being in the blazing heat.
i hope to afford some armor for my truck someday. i’m concerned about bumping into things on the trail. especially since i’m likely alone.

This is so true. The ATV trails and scramble area we ride have some steep sections. 25 degrees according the level app on my phone which is about a 47% grade. The pictures I took standing at both the bottom and top of some of them don't look like anything.

She doesn’t like being inside the truck when we hit any of the fun areas. That’s why she likes to film. She’s not really in to going off road. She does it because I like it, and has found her own form of entertainment, which is seeing what people say here and at TW when I post a video.

25* is a damn steep hill. Sounds like a lot of fun! I know exactly what you mean. I was looking at the trails in person and a couple of them are pretty steep. In the video it’s like overlanding. Lol

Here are some pics from today. These were iPhone pics. My pops was shooting with a Nikon and some monstrous lens 150/500? Anyways, he got a bunch of really cool shots of a herd of antelope. I’ll post those up when he sorts through and sends them to me.

That is some interesting terrain. I'd take my Polaris 4wheeler but probably not my truck. I'll have to look you up on TW I'm over there sometimes also.
I had a Polaris Razor and it would have easily conquered these trails. The Taco is more comfortable though. I’ll be back on TW in a day or two. They’re ban happy over there, for the most absurd reasons.
It’s is quite interesting terrain. It’s a nice mix between ho hum drive on smooth dirt, smooth dirt that has been eroded by rain so watch how you cross it, to rock ledges and steps, to bumpy ass hard pack with army helmets sticking up everywhere. Oh, I almost forgot. The damned washboards. Miles of washboard road.
I really do love it here though. There are so many trails and they are all within a short (10-30 minute) drive from my house.
