You don't see this everyday.

ST. BERNARD PARISH, La. — An unusual water rescue in St. Bernard Parish after Hurricane Ida saw crews using a chainsaw to cut branches away from a cow caught in a tree, stranded above floodwaters.

The cow appeared unharmed in a video posted by parish officials. It was reportedly rescued Tuesday near the Florissant Highway, which experienced flooding and storm surge from Hurricane Ida.
Florissant Highway remains closed until further notice due to high water levels.

Ida struck St. Bernard Parish with punishing storm surge Sunday and caused levees throughout the parish to overtop.

Much of the parish remains heavily damaged by the storm and without power. A parish-wide curfew from dusk until dawn remains in effect until further notice.

Hedley Lamarr: Wait, wait, wait. I'm unarmed.
Bart: Alright, we'll settle this like men, with our fists.
Hedley Lamarr: Sorry, I just remembered . . . I am armed.

For Christ's sake. Really? Just cut the damn tree off below the cow, let it fall over, and the cow will walk away. It ain't time to trim the tree boys. Good for them for helping, but someone needed to be there to help direct these characters.

And for the record… I never would’ve known how to get a cow out of a tree and I’m a pretty smart feller

Considering that the water was almost up to the cow, I don't think there would have been much walking involved.

No, Daoism isn't a religion

One of my medic school instructors had a photo of a dead cow tangled in the top of a telephone pole after a hurricane. I forget exactly where he was.
