Rarely do I get excited over something new in the food department for me, because "I've been there and done that" all over. Well a couple of days ago my son takes me to the Chi-Fill-A joint about a half mile from our house and gets me the regular sandwich and a bowl of their chicken noodle soup. Holy Toledo Jones! Tat soup was the best I have ever had. Now I tend to look askance at someone with too much hyperbole, but this was off the chart. Not only was the soup good, the chunks of chicken seemed to be as big as golf balls and the big, fat egg noodles were to die for! The noodles were what made this very special. I thought momma's noodles were the best, but not so.

I do think their chicken noodle soup is very good. I only had it a few times in my life within a week. I was sick as hell, walking pneumonia and coughing up blood, but I was still having to work 12 hour days doing surveillance. I lived on their soup for about a week and I loved it. I have never had it since as I seem to only have that when I am sick or make a turkey carcass soup after Thanksgiving.

Charlie, my question is, if it's a half mile from your house why on earth are you just now getting around to trying it? Good grief, man, you've been missing out. Smile

I said it was good stuff in the last thread on Chick-fil-A. The CNS with a Chick-fil-A sandwich and lemonade is the perfect combination.

I go there all to frequently for lunch, for the lunch time rush they have 3-4 employees working the drive-thru walking alongside your car with a tablet to order and take your payment if paying with a card. Recently they added a little podium thing with an umbrella and an employee there hands your receipt to you and takes your cash if you are paying that way. Then they have another employee standing OUTSIDE the drive-thru window to give you your meal. The store is set up on a small footprint, and its very easy for things to get backed up into the shopping center parking lot and even into the street. The whole process takes less than 5 mins from enter the drive-thru line to eating your food. Night and day difference between any other fast food place. They get my respect and my $.

I'm still mad they took the chicken salad sandwich off the menu. Was my go to for the longest time.

Yeah, I'm disappointed also, the salad sandwich together with a Spicy Deluxe was my standard order. Now I just get the fries to go along with the deluxe.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott Signs Chick-Fil-A Law To Protect ‘Religious Liberty’

Syndicated Local – CBS Dallas / Fort Worth 1 day ago

AUSTIN, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – The so-called Chick-Fil-A bill is now law in Texas.

The law bans government entities from taking “adverse action” over an individual or organization’s affiliation to a religious organization.

Governor Abbott tweeted Thursday night, “Today I signed the ⁦@ChickfilA⁩ law in Texas. And, had a great lunch. No business should be discriminated against simply because its owners donate to a church, the Salvation Army, or other religious organization. Texas protects religious liberty.”

Governor Abbot's tweet:

Today I signed the ⁦@ChickfilA⁩ law in Texas.

And, had a great lunch.

No business should be discriminated against simply because its owners donate to a church, the Salvation Army, or other religious organization.

Texas protects religious liberty.

The Governor signed the bill flanked by people holding Chick-Fil-A cups as well as a Chick-Fil-A box and cow on his desk.

The Texas House passed Senate Bill 1978 on May 20 in a 79-62 vote.

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sent a letter to San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg and city council members letting them know he is opening an investigation surrounding the city’s decision to exclude Chick-fil-A from a concession contract that city staff recommended.

According to Paxton, “The Council was in the process of approving a concessionaire agreement with Paradies Legadere (Paradies) to run concession facilities in the San Antonio airport. The Paradies proposal included a license that would bring Chick-fil-A to the airport.”

“The City of San Antonio’s decision to exclude a respected vendor based on the religious beliefs associated with that company and its owners is the opposite of tolerance,” Attorney General Paxton said. “The city’s discriminatory decision is not only out of step with Texas values, but inconsistent with the Constitution and Texas law.”

By separate letter, he also requested Secretary Elaine Chao of the United States Department of Transportation open an investigation into “the city of San Antonio’s potential violation of federal law and Transportation Department regulations when the city banned Chick-fil-A from operating a restaurant in the San Antonio International Airport based on the company’s religious beliefs.”

Paxton cited comments from a city council meeting in the letter to Chao where he alleged discrimination. He said that when the council moved to approve the contract that would have allowed the restaurant at the airport, a council member instead moved to exclude and replace Chick-fil-A. Paxton said, “His [the council member’s] rationale was that Chick-fil-A has a ‘legacy of anti-LGBT behavior.’” Paxton said the Council member who seconded the motion referred to Chick-fil-A as a “symbol of hate.”

Democrats say the bill invites discrimination.

Like there chicken noodle soup too. I normally wouldn't since it has carrot and celery in it, but they are cooked so well and soft, you can't really tell they are in there!

Like others, I really like it when I'm sick. Buy a few extra containers to take home! Mmmmm good.
