We had a doberman/shepherd pound pup named Felix. He was a good boy. Loved any package you brought into the house, he HAD TO inspect it. He loved Christmas. Checked out everyone's gift as they opened it. One Christmas Eve, we went out to dinner and while we were out, he grabbed a gift that Grandma had brought over for him which was under the tree in the pile. He brought it to his bed and waited for us to come home before he opened it. Cute as hell! Every night, he go to his food bowl and then come into our bedroom and drop a couple kibbles on the floor and look at us. We told him thank you, we have eaten, eat your dinner. He'd grab them up and go eat his dinner. He was sharing his meal with us! He used to watch my wife planting and potting in the back yard. He'd get a level above her and watch... and wait. Once she was lost in her work he'd get ready and when she looked up he would bolt up and bark and snarl at her and she'd freak out. Then he'd lay back down and it looked like he was laughing. Big old smile and tongue lolling out of his mouth. He was a card!

We had a black lab that ate all the tags off the presents under the tree. Didn't open any presents. We had a lot of fun guessing which present was for which kid that year.

Eat, sleep, fish. Forced to work. |
Yes, our GSP Fritz gets locally homemade peanut butter dog treat cookies. He rips them open. I usually have him bring my husband's smaller items to him in a gift bag. We practiced again the evening before this year, just in case he forgot (which he had not). When I gave him the first small gift bag and told him "bring it in there"...I guess he forgot the practice and had it half way opened by the time it got to the chair. It's MINE, MA

Not your average kind of girl |
Love this! Yes my Golden Lily who passed after Christmas last year was a present opening fool. My other three are learning the trick too. If it won't matter in 5 years don't give it more than 5 minutes.
