Tried starting my two stroke leaf blower the other day and couldn't. I'll be 69 next week so figured I've done enough tugging on two strokes. So I'm thinking battery powered blower, but would prefer one not made in China. Is that possible? Any ideas or preferences? Thanks

I would check Stihl to get you started: https://www.stihlusa.com/products/battery-products/ I think most of their products are made in the USA , but you would probably have to confirm if you were looking at a specific model. I do own a Stihl gas blower and it has been great, but I can't personally comment on the quality of their battery powered tools.

While made in China. EGO 56 volt rules the roost when it comes to battery garden equipment. You want voltage and the problem with Makita, dewalt, Milwaukee is they all want to use their 20 volt tool batteries. I've used the EGO battery blower to blow off over 4,000 sq feet of pavers around a house on a weekly basis, it was 90% as powerful as my gas Hitachi, quieter, lighter and well, just works, never had the battery not last. If I wasn't so embedded with gas at home, this is how I would go.

Pricing isn't terrible on the EGO stuff. Replacement Batteries though I've got a corded B&D blower that died after 3 uses. If they won't warranty it, will have to take a look at the Stihl & EGO options, though my weed-eater is a 2-stroke Stihl, so another 2-stroke blower wouldn't be a hindrance. The Enemy's gate is down.

While most of Stihl's gas-powered tools are at least assembled in the US (from both US-made and foreign-made parts), I believe their battery-powered tools are made overseas. Almost certainly China, considering Stihl has a large factory in China, and they also own the parent company of Greenworks, which is another Chinese-made line of cordless electric lawn tools. I don't know of any US-made battery-powered leaf blowers.

Yes the EGO spare batteries are $150, OUCH. The EGO I use, is used weekly for 25-30 mins and is going strong after almost 3 years now on the same battery. I've never had the battery going dead while using it. There's a lawn mower thread on here from a few weeks ago where many members have the 56V lawn mower and great reviews on the forum...

Just buy more tools and the batteries are cheap. EGO also has a 3 year battery warranty (make sure to register them) and a 5 year tool warranty. They are pretty impressive. I have the blower with the 2.5 amp hour battery and the weed whip with the 5.0 amp hour battery. Should have gotten the 5.0 with the blower too. The 2.5 is fine for blowing of the drive and walk after mowing and light leaves. Come fall when my 23 Premier Pears shed their leaves the 2.5 is not enough especially since we had a wet fall. Chainsaw is next on the list. Sign up for their emails and they do generally do some good sales. The trimmer with 5.0ah battery is currently $100 at Home Depot. I presume because it is old stock mine is dated Dec. 2017 but Ego assured me warranty begins at purchase not manufacture. I was unable to locate US made stuff. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand. Do you have a link for this? I’d be very interested in this, but I cannot find any such deal on the Home Depot website.

Sorry, looks like auto correct trimmed me down a bit. Should read $100 OFF. $219 is the sale price which is pretty good. Considering a 5ah battery is $250 by itself. https://www.homedepot.com/p/EG...ed-ST1504F/300994004 ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. Gonna be hard to find an American made battery powered leaf blower. Dewalt makes a few battery powered tools in the US, but leaf blower isn’t one of them. I’d like to buy one myself, if there is a brand that makes one here. ——————————————— The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Psalm 14:1

Black92LX, thanks. That makes more sense. If it was $100, I was going to jump on it!

A new Stihl hand held gas blower is $139 and canned fuel is $3.99 a qt. Buy em both at Rural King. I don't know what kind of gas blower you had or how old but a new Stihl using canned gas will be dead nuts reliable for several years. I've got a lot of gas 2 stroke equip so I buy a 5 gal can of av gas high octane no ethanol and I mix Amsoil Sabre synthetic oil at 80:1 and run it in everything. Add an oz of Startron out of habit and I'm set for the season and it will carry over from year to year in a good can. ________________________ God spelled backwards is dog

No idea where it’s made but I bought a Kobalt 24v leaf blower last year from Lowe’s that I’m really impressed with. It’s got a lot of power for a battery unit and made cleaning up the 19 metric tons of leaves my yard gets each fall a snap. I’d say the only issue is the battery doesn’t last all that long, maybe 15 minutes of full power use, but I have a second battery I swap out when it starts losing umph and it’s fine.

I finally found a Stihl BGA57 blower. The tag says 'Made in USA with domestic and foreign components'. That's about as good as I could find. Everything else that I looked at said 'Made in China'. Hope it works well. Too chilly out today for me to do yardwork. Thanks for your suggestions, especially the one about Stihl.
