SigEdVacuum Sealer Advice Needed
I’ve had the Foodsaver Professional II for years. Pretty sure I bought it on advice from here in the first place. It’s been a good one. Last night I went to package some King Salmon and all I get is 3 flashing green lights. Pretty sure it’s toast. What limited info I can find pointes to a sensor gone bad and it’s reported that parts are not available. I’ll double check with the company tomorrow.
If anybody knows a fix for this I’d certainly try it.
Otherwise what are y’all liking for vacuum packaging these days. The 5000 series looks interesting and is on sale. The 5260 new is 139.99 with 5 year warranty and the 5380 refurbished for 99.99 with 1 year warranty. Basically the same machine.
Thoughts?

OKCGeneI had an issue so I phoned them. They were able to help me get it going again, I didn’t have to buy another one.

flesheatingvirusI dumped Foodsaver a long time ago. Weston or Vacmaster are much better machines.
You get what you pay for. Even the Foodsavers I had that didn’t break were woefully slow and underpowered.

Black92LXCabella’s Commercial Grade are the excellent. If I ever get around to buying one for myself that will be it. Fortunately I am currently lucky enough to mooch my buddy’s.
His has been going strong for years. Lots of meat packed with that unit.

I beat the snot out of mine. I think it is 7 years old now. It looks like I'm going to have to replace the sealing strip soon. I love the fact that you can buy parts for it.
I'm closing in on a chamber sealer soon.
