jsyodesRemoving ancient dried duct tape residue from a painted surface?
citrus essential oils (orange, lemon, grapefruit) work well on regular sticker residue, worth a try if you have any. Smell good too!

jed7s9bI’m wondering if a coating of bearing grease left sitting for a day or few would soften the residue.

M1GarandyMorning update.
After soaking in WD-40 overnight, a plastic scraper and some CAREFUL use of a single edge razor blade I've gotten 95% of the tape residue off. Soaking a couple of tough spots at the moment.
Worst case, I'll try the eraser attachment that showed up overnight on these spots.
I see some soap and a bit of pressure washing in the real near future.
Did a bit of bodywork straightening out a few bent drawer bodies this morning as well.

Yep. That's primarily what Goo Gone is. Citrus oil, mixed with a bit of denatured alcohol and mineral spirits.

M1GarandyEraser wheel melted the paint as I was afraid it would.
Thankfully, the spot I ruined already looked bad and I don't think I made it look that much worse than it did previously.
Just finished attacking it with some soap and water, Simple Green, some compound on my DA polisher followed by some wax.
Unfortunately, the spots where stickers had been didn't blend in quite as well as I'd hoped they would, nor could I get all the old grease off without removing more paint than I wanted to but that's life.
After I eat lunch, I'll put the drawers back in and snap a picture for y'all.
All in all, it looks a lot better than what I started with.

Three of them if you can believe that!
