^ Not a bad combo.
Test driving is always fun, if you can stomach the 'game'.

Folks on SF are frequently eyeing trucks like the big Bronco, maybe an F150 Lightning, Jeep Grand Wagoneer.

The advertised base (or package) price on those suckers is $80-90,000.
So unless your trade is a recent 911, you're looking at many years of $1000/month.

I can't. I know someone who traveled a lot to LA etc. His way of spending time on trips was to "test-drive" Ferraris etc. I couldn't in good conscience do that.
But I also can't stomach going to a Toyota dealer. Hondas, OK, but Toyota still seems to have the high-pressure pitch. Kia? Haven't been, because I hate "the game".

Porsche. There is no substitute.

Unless you are my 78yo uncle who stores his Cayman track car in the winter then puts winter tires on his VW GTI. At one point, he owned a 914 with a six cylinder, a 911 and a Boxster at the same time.

My dad, on the other hand, is 83 and leaning towards a new Corvette as the last car he’ll ever buy.

Oh man, the KIA dealer in Cape Coral had music just blasting. My wife and an were both like WTF? I like loud music and AC/DC. I have a 50 watt Marshall JMP, a Marshall 4-12 cab, and a Malcolm Young Gretsch, but damn the music was loud at the KIA dealer. $11k over list, I offer list. They counter $6k over list, I say list or we walk.

We walked and ordered an Explorer ST. KIA sales guy calls with “good news”, he talked to the other manager who said they could come down to $6.5k over list. I explain that’s the wrong direction. The next week he calls again and asks if we were still interest at list. I said sure as long as we still get the “free" 55 flat screen TV.

I kinda like the game. Every car or truck purchase I’ve made has a fairly good story to go with it.
