I traveled from one end of this country with a camper filled with Shasta.

Nehi and Crush in the '60s in rural SE NC. Early '70s we started seeing Shasta and Canada Dry Products too. Tleo mentioned a cherry drink in NC, must have been a small regional drink; I remember the little store down the road had many of the national brands but also a few small bottlers from around New Bern IIRC (can't remember the brands though). We did get Tahitian Treat and Cactus Coolers at times after Canada Dry had more of a presence.

I remember crush as well in the 60's but for the life of me can not recall the cherry brand. My dad always bought me one at a little curb market while growing up in Thomasville.

^^^It’s not Cheerwine is it?

Success always occurs in private, and failure in full view.

Complacency sucks…

Cheerwine is originally from the Salisbury area. Never heard of it until Food Lion brought it to town way back when...

We had Shasta in Kansas City, and Whistle Orange Soda. My parents splurged for the brand name stuff a lot though. We always had Pepsi or Dr.Pepper.

Shasta orange and cherry. I’d punch the Pope for a bottle of those.

Little Tom's, Cleveland Ohio in the 1980s. 24 6 ounce bottles that came in a wooden crate. My dad would take me to the beer store and get me a case. I remember that the guy at the counter always gave me a pretzel rod. Simpler times for sure. That stuff was the best damn flavored pop I've ever tasted.

We drank a lot of Shasta growing up in in SoCal. I also remember trying to find enough money to purchase a Cactus Cooler from the vending machine at the local swimming pool.

This is perhaps the best Comercial for Faygo.

About the Boat.

Boblo Boat Info

The commercial was filled on the Boblo Boat. Boblo Island was an amusement park in the Detroit River, it has since gone out of business. There were 2 Boblo boats, classic Great Lakes steamers, both sat tied up for years. 1 was towed to NY to be restored, the 2nd partially burned. TBD if either will sail again.
