El Camino del Ray - world's most dangerous hike
I used to share the second video below with our scouts anytime they wanted to go on a more "challenging" hike. Us leaders usually threw up at the thought.

The first one is newer, and much better film quality. Unfortunately his dubbed over narration in parts is awful and there is a little too much shaky-cam for most of us.

Incredible. Someone would have to come get me.

The first one she's clipped into safety lines. Great views. I would definitely do that with the safety of a harness and some quickdraws.

I understand they have refurbished this route.

Those are both videos of the trail before they refurbished it. It is much safer today with a brand new walkway above the older one.

I would have done the original version when I was younger. Today with three young kids, not a chance.

Here is a virtual tour of the new trail.

Looks very safe now. I kinda would have wanted to do the old one, with protection.

I'm with Elk on this one. I saw the older video years ago and it gave me the willies then, and still does. Especially the places where the guy walks the iron supports where the cement had crumbled away. That dude is nukkin' futz.

The cute girl in the video? Wink

I'd probably have done it. I would have really been inspecting the line and anchors they were clipped in to, I already know the "path" is sketchy.

The right mental approach is that of rock climbing and not "hiking" though IMHO. No, I would never "hike" that trail, but I'd "climb" on it with protection.

I’d have done it with the safety line with no problems. Without, I’d have to give it some thought.

In my younger days I'd probably have done it. The older I get the less agile I seem to be when scrambling around, the less sure of footing, etc.

I did my first canyoneering at 63, now at 75 I'm not sure I'll go again.

His cute girlfriend has a big pair of brass balls, too. She laughed and giggled her way through the walk. It’s fun to be young.

I’d fall into the category of would have done it given the opportunity. However, I would not have used a personal anchor system made of quick draws attached to my belay loop /Facepalm.

Looks kind of risky to take the King on his road.

I suspect autocorrect “helped” Georgair by changing “Rey” to Ray.
