What's with all this "plus" stuff?

Just another way to pry more money out of customers...

Discovery +

Paramount +

Today, I just got a 23andme plus email. I did 23andME a while back...and for the "fee" you paid for the genetic test, you continue to get updated reports as they align more gene code. Well, not any more...now you need to upgrade to 23andME +.

Another fucking scumbag move my these thieves...

You pay to get something...then they move the goalposts...and you pay for the next layer...

I worked in marketing and if you guys had to sit through some of the meetings I did you would be amazed at the ridiculous ideas.

Every couple of years there has to be a new buzz word to get more money out of people often times for the same product.

All it takes is something like X-treme with some wild graphics and these companies are then willing to remake a bunch of their food packaging with that crap spread out all over.

I worked for a company that decided to market some new gizmo with a "-X" suffix.

The thing that I found amusing was the gizmo ended with the letter "s".

Example: graphics-X

The guy that give birth to that idea left the company a few months later.

Whenever I see a business or neighborhood spelled with an extra "e," I know it will be expensive, snobbish, or both. Such as ""Crown Pointe Shopping Center.". .
