Another thing to consider is buying used. I was recently in the market for a safe with an 800 budget. Everything new in my price range was on the lower end quality. Thin steel, made in China. I looked on the local classifieds and found a nice champion 32 gun safe someone was selling as part of an estate sale. 400 and in excellent condition. The cost to have it moved prevented others from buying it. After researching safe moving equipment I found you could rent electric stair climbing dollys for about 100 dollars. In the end, I have a 2k+ safe for less than 600 total invested. The safe weight was about 600lbs but fairly easy to move with the electric dolly and a friend. Keep in mind that buying used probably voids the manufacturer warranty/ insurance. In the end, I have insurance that already covers everything so it didn't matter to me.

I got this safe and I've been really happy with it. I spent 2 years looking and finally settled. US company, but made in China. They cut out the Liberty markup. 10ga steel body, 930lbs, great interior and lighting, 1/4" steel door, and 90 minute fire rating at 1200°. My only complaint is that it is a bit shallow. Without it bolted down, the door is enough to pull it over with a little help. I live 5 minutes from the fire department, so I'm not too concerned but wanted enough fire rating to keep things nice inside until they would get here. https://www.deansafe.com/produ...v0x7k4YaAuWjEALw_wcB SIG556 Classic P220 Carry SAS Gen 2 SAO SP2022 9mm German Triple Serial P938 SAS P365 FDE P322 FDE Psalm 118:24 "This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it"

I have a Fort Knox safe as well and would buy another if needed. The only thing I’d change would be to go bigger and not worry about the models with “automotive” grade paint on them. If I had to pick a second maker it would probably be Amsec. "Attack life, it's going to kill you anyway." Steve McQueen...
