This label came with some 7.62x54R ammo I acquired. I'm assuming "1973" is a date. Can anyone translate the other words? Thanks!

Google Image Translate says: LABEL Official 2 Quality Control 2 Contract 675 - 1973 That's just a rough, literal translation using Google Image Translate. Hopefully someone actually fluent will come along. But I do know two things for sure: "1973r" is definitely the year 1973. That Cyrillic "r" after a year is actually the Russian letter g, and is the abbreviation for "god" (year). You see it in that same format on all year markings on various military equipment and firearms. And the Cyrillic "OTK" denotes that it's been certified to be manufactured to military specifications.

This could be a cold war era secret message left in a dead-drop. ------------ Two assets Two handlers Extraction at point 675 - 1973 ------------ I'm a little rusty. It's been years since I worked for "The Company".

Trying to catch the attention of a Russian friend on IRC... Finnish friend, whose wife is fluent, says: That's all I have so far. Still waiting for my Russian friend to show up. Looks like зак. is an abbreviation of заказ (zakaz), which is "Order" (as in a purchase order, commission, or contract). So that last line would read something like: Contract/Order #675 of the year 1973

RogueJSK - Thanks, this is very helpful. The label was included with a can of Russian 7.62x54R which reads only 3-41 and 240st (240 cartridges). The cartridge cases are headstamped 188 and 71 - which I now believe indicates 1971 manufacture (confirmed by the 1973 packing label).
