as part of the Barcelona incident, the daily mail is reporting a female officer took out 4 out of 5 of them with a pistol after her partner was hit by them. Another officer got the 5th one.

Two men including Moroccan-born Driss Oukabir - the only one to be publicly named - were arrested following the Barcelona attack.

Oukabir was arrested in Ripoll, around 60 miles outside of the Spanish city, after his documents were found in the van. His image then circulated in media reports.

Spanish media have reported that the 28-year-old’s younger brother, Moussa Oukabir, is now being sought by police.

Hmmm. They don't sound like the average ETA terrorist to me....

I was listening to Shep when this occurred. He kept calling it Barthalona.

And did he call the province Catalunia? Bet not.

Anyway, here's a follow-up:

The policeman who shot four terrorists dead is a former member of the Spanish Legion.
The Spanish Legion was formed originally to fight in Spanish Sahara, now no longer under Spain (I drove through there back in '68). More recently they comprise Spain's Rapid Reaction Force and have fought in Bosnia, Iraq, and elsewhere. Part of the Legion is considered Special Forces.
Anyway, the Spanish are now rightly regarding him as a real hero.
