From a recently found photo album. Taken in 1968 while driving around Washington, DC, following the riots after MLK Jr.’s murder: “Soul Sister” written on the rear window. No irony here. ► 6.4/93.6 “It is peace for our time.” — Neville the Appeaser

I was working at a VW dealership in Miami (Reinhart VW), just across the road from Coconut Grove. Most of us were armed with handguns or rifles those several days. One Salesman carried an M1 carbine on his rounds. We were being shot at from rooftops in Coconut Grove. They missed us but several new VW's on back lot ended up with bullet holes. ********* "Some people are alive today because it's against the law to kill them".
