If you have exhausted all methods, before resorting to 10mm, try the following:

Drill small hole in bottom cup, through both walls and give a blast of compressed air. It would separate them in a heartbeat. You will of course be out one cup.

Umm. A vacuum would be the absence of matter and air is matter, so air and vacuum are mutually exclusive.

Take them back to the store and tell them you want to exchange these defective cups. Wink

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

A tweak to this, use a bit the size of a ball needle push ball needle through both holes then hand pump them apart then of course karma the bottom cup as funnel. Big Grin

There have been some threads in the past asking if there is anything that someone on this forum does not know. I can confidently say no now since more than one person knew how to get Tervis cups apart.

I put the bottom cup in a pot of hot water and poured ice water in the top one. After letting that sit for a few minutes I dried them off, used the edge of the countertop for leverage, and wiggled the top cup off. It took a lot of force but I was finally able to get both sets separated.

I had my cordless drill charging and changed to a new blade on the Sawzall in case the hot/cold water didn't work. And Monkey- I started building the blast bunker and was evacuating neighbors just in case the 10mm was needed.

Cool! If nothing else, you now have the most famous cups in all of Sigforumland.

Guess I'll have to use the 50 cal on something else. Big Grin

If you had one of those Star Trek transporters, you could lock on to one cup and transport it to another location leaving the first cup where it sits.
