A Chicago gangbanger could have a connection in Indiana, resident who is a relative, friend, gang connection, who could make a straw purchase.

Not legal of course, but easy enough and probably very common.

just a point of clarity, for dealer sales,

unless Illinois has a State Law saying you cannot buy a long gun, anyone can buy a long gun from another state, (provided and State restriction or qualifications are met)

the contiguous state rule ended long long ago

handguns, as we all should know, can only be sold to a resident of the state the handgun is located in,

Its the same OLD shell game the Dem's/Lib's have been playing for years!

Lets blame the GUN!
NOT the person pulling the trigger.

What about all the years there were NO gun laws in IL.or the USA in general and there was little gun related crime.
What changed,The people, NOT the gun.

What happened when Chicago had some of the most restrictive gun laws?
This place was still shooting people at a pretty decent pace!

I have to say “common sense” gun laws do work.
Now before I get flamed, when I say “common sense”, I mean “common sense” in OUR terms, not some piss-ant, chicken shit liberal.

You get caught committing a crime with a gun, you go to prison. And you stay there for a while.

Here? Ya might hit the crossbar hotel after your 6th, 7th, maybe 8th time.

This. The same federal laws apply here as everywhere else. In fact, I've even seen the checkout clerks at the Hammond Cabela's ask IL residents for their FOID card before selling them ammo...which kinda pissed me off because there's no such restriction in this state...anybody can legally buy ammo. I figured it must be store policy to keep the politicians on the other side of the border happy, and I don't like seeing local businesses in Indiana giving in to that pressure.

The same goes for Walmart in Indiana. They require a FOID card to sell to Illinois residents. So it may be more than just store policy.

Where at in Indiana? That doesn't happen here, but I live almost two hours from Chicago. It wouldn't suprise me if big retailers like that in Lake County and the rest of "The Region" have been pressured to adopt similar policies since they also do business in IL. While I've shopped at Cabelas and Bass Pro up there, I've never been in a Wal-Mart...we have plenty of those locally.

I guess it could be local ordinance...that part of the state is heavily influenced by Chicago...it's not even on the same time zone as the rest of us. I can assure you that it's not state law, though...there's no IC code requiring Indiana retailers to abide by Illinois firearms regulations.

Valparaiso Walmart. I was there with my friend prior to our going to an outdoor shooting range when he purchased some 5.56 ammo. He was asked for his FOID card before they would sell him the ammo.

and if it is not against the two states' laws. I dont know IN and IL state laws.

Either way, it triggers a NICS check if its purchased from a FFL.

The point is, like we all know, this politician is full of it. Long guns are not what is being used in these crimes, handguns are. And no IL resident can simply go iver to IN and legally buy a handgun from a dealer or an individual.

PR64-

Here's an interesting article to show you how
totally fucking clueless that "Beetlejuice" dwarf twat of a mayor is:

https://www.breitbart.com/poli...-recovered-illinois/

Eek SHOCKING Eek
The majority of the guns recovered are from....
ILLINOIS!

"The ATF numbers show 5,337 guns recovered in Illinois were traced and sourced as coming from Illinois.

Fourteen other states accounted for a total of 4,375 guns recovered in Illinois and traced to their source. Those states were Indiana, Missouri, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Texas, Ohio, Georgia, Iowa, Alabama, Florida, Arkansas, and Michigan..."
