Live in the deep south. Wear a ball cap a good bit. On the rare ocassion I have to break out the heavy, I reach for my Navy Watch Cap.

On very cold days when I am out skiing I’ll put on my Turtle Fur beanie.
It feels great on my folically challenged cranium, and it’s a medium weight so my helmet still fits ok over it. Covers the ears too.
It is very warm and cozy.

I am down to about 200 individual hairs on top and the whole "mop" is cut to about 1/3 of an inch. Hats are mandatory if it is below 60...
Fleece beanie for working outside and extended periods of time.
For casual day wear and running errands, I have a collection of wool newsboy hats.
Do, Or do not. There is no try.

Hats have become normal for me to protect from sun and cold. Bald with bout of skin cancer on head.
If it’s at all damp, I wear a brimmed hat. Felt in winter, straw in summer. Need to protect expensive hearing aids from rain.
Otherwise, cotton baseball cap (Univ Houston logo).

Just one of those strech hats that folds back up on itself with no real brim. Lots of names I guess, but a toboggin or shortened to a boggin is what we always called it.
And our 4x4s went muddin.

Usually I wear a wool stocking cap and it’s adequate. A number of years ago I purchased a good used Canada Goose aviator hat and it literally sets my head on fire. Unbelievably warm. Almost too warm for SW Michigan winters.

When shit gets real, such as running the snowblower, I bought a half dozen of these. Keep some in the car etc... Cheap and effective.
I shoulda bought a similar had when I was in London years ago,
however I did not ,
I have a few baseball type caps, and a few of the floppy boonie hats for when I am outside a lot,
generally speaking, my head does not get cold, I am very hot natured, so rarely wear a hat,
There are sources on-line - like the link to Kerry Woolen I posted. Get one - great quality, classic look...

Okay, in addition to the Akubra Riverine (original version) and the mouton Ushanka already mentioned, I have a few others to keep my bald dome warm. Like my cuts says "always with a hat..."

Harrison Hillhouse Wool Olive/Brown Herringbone Tweed flat cap
L.L. Bean light brown suede Ivy driver’s cap
Jaxon Pure Wool Ivy Cap Gray
...and a couple of traditional Navy watchcaps although I haven't worn them in literally decades.

I used to wear whatever beanie/tuque/stocking cap was laying around but my head would get uncomfortably hot. Recently, I found an old head band from my running days in high school and I've started to wear that to keep my ears warm without cooking the top of my head. It doesn't look cool but it works for me.

Minus33 merino wool hat. Perfect weight for walking the pup each morning. Coldest it’s been is low teens.

That one of mine is my most used drivers / Ivy styled cap. Great stuff! I prefer the seams on mine (none down the middle) to the current model... still this is very nice and has a cotton-poly lining whereas mine is silk-like material.
