Live long and prosper |
Other day I noticed someone mentioned this, unknown to me, browser and quickly downloaded and installed it. My first impression is that it seems noticeably quicker than Chrome and FF, my usual browsers. Wonder if somebody more experienced with it already have found inportant shortcomings or useful information that are willing to share. How good is the new kid on the block? Also, please tell us about what platforms do you run and where Brave shines or doesn't. Thanks 0-0 "OP is a troll" - Flashlightboy, 12/18/20

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should |
I've had it for about a year and use it some. My experiences: It's somewhat different to use than chrome and takes a little getting used to. The Brave page opens a little slower but searches are quicker and seem to have a lot less junk. That's probably why they load quicker. I still use chrome more, probably just because I'm more familiar with that one. No other negatives that I've found so far. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

I need to revisit it. Interested in experiences of others as well... I downloaded it but never used it more than a passing glance because I am lazy mostly, I can't remember all my saved log-ons and am spoiled to having them autofilled. Collecting dust.

Not to cause thread drift - but you may want to look into setting up pi-hole on your network to block out ads and greatly speed up your internet experience. Though depending on the blacklists you use, you may have to tweak the rules from time to time. But if you're installing on a laptop that you travel with, brave is a helpful solution (or similarly install privacy badger and ublock origin for firefox or chrome).

Move Up or Move Over |
I like Brave well enough. I'm hoping their business model works out in the long run. I think it is a tad bit slower than Chrome. I don't get as many relevant search results either. But, I'm happy to not be supporting Google...

I recently started playing with Palemoon browser. I like it so far. It’s a branch off of Firefox. I don’t know much else about it though.
