mesabiHibbing,MN 34° Low there today. Corrected for PHPaul TY
My home town; just got back from there a week ago. My father and brother were both iron miners. I decided on a military career just to "break the chain". Not an unusual temp for this time of year. The article is a little off about the amenities in Old North Hibbing; things like the model airplane park were swallowed-up by the Hull Rust/Mahoning mine expansion last year.

Sunset_VaIs Hibbing fR enough away from the Great Lakes to avoid the "Lake Effect"in winter?

KevboNo shit! How long have you lived there? Any chance you knew Leroy and Katie Beaudry? My wife’s Aunt still lives in Aitkin
I stayed many a fine night at the new hotel across from the Dairy Queen with the Emus...or were they ostriches? Country suites or something?

KevboWrong side of the lake for the most part...the vast majority of lake effect is to the south and east of the lakes...at least that’s my understanding...I’ve been up in Gheen and Orr in the winter a few times and it is cold as balls and plenty of snow....but not like the snow I experienced in Watertown...

bald1The record high for today was 98℉ set in 1960. We hit 104℉ at the airport and 102℉ downtown.
Still looking at a huge swing with the high for Tuesday forecast for 46℉ with foothills frost and even snow in the higher elevations.
