Since the MLB season is on hold at best, I thought it might be fun to see what everyone's favorite minor league team might be. I love the minor league team names. Whole lotta creativity and fun there. Smile

Two of mine I have team hats for...

Richond Flying Squirrels

Lansing Lugnuts

Montgomery Biscuits!

I used to install LED video screens and scoreboards for sports from college to pro teams. Our company had a lot of minor league teams and that was always my favorite sport to do. I can’t say I really have a favorite team but the Montgomery Biscuits was pretty fun. The park itself is neat and who doesn’t love biscuits?

I was really pumped to see the Firefrogs this season as they play about 10 minutes from my house. Unfortunately this Covid shit has likely ruined this season.

Now:
Norfolk Tides and the
Peninsula Pilots of the wood bat league.

I do enjoy hitting the Carolina Mudcats games in Zebulon just outside of Raleigh

For over 30 years + it was the Columbus Clippers.

Then it became the Richmond Braves..

Due to work and now this pandemic I have not had a chance to see the Durham Bulls, Greenville Drive or The Kannapolis Intimidators.

Decent team. Tickets are like $7. Great 4th of July fireworks show. And a good selection of craft beers at only a slightly unreasonable markup.

Back when I lived in Maine, I enjoyed Portland Sea Dogs games.

Savannah Bananas.
Not a MLB minor league team but really good Summer league baseball using college athletes.
All games sell out, tickets are very reasonable.
It is so much fun. They even have off season games for holiday weekends.
Quite a refreshing change for a very old stadium.
Competition includes Macon Bacon, Lexington County Blowfish........

The OKC Dodgers, we are the LA Dodgers AAA affiliate, and we have a pretty nice stadium.

Don’t forget the Isotopes of Albuquerque.

Slight thread drift, but Washburn University in Topeka KS is the Ichabods. I always laugh at the idea of someone proposing the mascot name of Ichabods and it being accepted and put in use.

This is our local Triple A team. Wonder how much longer this logo will be around now.

I think it’s a shame that “Isotopes” supplanted the iconic Albuquerque Dukes minor league teams. My son lived and trained in ABQ for a few years and was able to find me a hat and t-shirt from the old ball club.

and here’s the real shame of the Dukes going away:

If I followed the sport more closely it would be the West Michigan Whitecaps.
