Painting the floor is out of the question. Floor is 24ftx24ft. Use interlocking tile or one of the cement backer boards and paint. Need some expert advise.

I don't think cement backer board will last with vehicles driving over it and parking on it. I have seen garage floors with both linoleum tile and others that had ceramic tile and they both lasted. The ceramic tile looked perfect for years. But you have to be careful you don't get any voids when you lay it or you might get a tile that cracks.

Patroit, which one did you use and how do you like it? What about installation? I have the roll type now but it wrinkles to much.

I put race deck down a couple of years ago. It cleans up well, easy to maintain. No issues and reasonably priced (around 2.00/sq ft)

Ill dig up a pic or two.

I went with the smooth flex tiles. 20” x 20”, 5 mm.

I did a black and gray checker.

Install was easy...just use a small rubber mallet to lock them...most go together without. Did entire garage in a few hours. Cut edges to length with a razor blade. That took the longest.

I was worried about truck tires marring tiles...so I simply took a few leftover tiles and place where truck tires rest..no issues.

Also, watch for sales. Also you can call and negotiate price...they came down 30% on my whole order.

Because wife likes the garage to be as neat as the rest of the house. You should see my cluttered work bench. Always after me to clean it up.

I’ve seen mats that you drive on, and can be easily removed to clean out. They have small walls, kind of like WeatherTech floormats, to hold all the crap from getting onto your floor.

I’m leaning that way...

Here is a photo I did right after install.

I wanted the finished look in the garage as well. It looks very professional.

Epoxy, Paint, VCT or whatever. Anything that requires an adhesive must be free of All Contaminates...Grease,Dust, Paint,ETC. Oh and Moisture (hydostatic) a real problem. Read the label on any adhesive very clear on this issue. My company specialized in hard surface flooring for over 40yrs. 99% of the failures where caused from some sort of contamination in the slab. In a garage it's usually oil/grease uless a new and they installed poly under to block the moisture.

I have Racedeck as well. 20'x20'. 3 years. And it has seen some heavy use.

Did a year long restoration, (almost frame off), so it has seen a lot of time with me laying on my back and scooting around the floor, dragging jacks, jack stands, engine hoists engine stands, rear ends and transmissions, and it still looks almost new.

Made all the cuts I needed around ob-stackles on a table saw, but it could be done with a circular saw.

Be prepared for a little sticker shock if you haven't started looking at price yet. I didn't want hard plastic tiles (race deck. swiss trax) and I wanted a hidden lock so I wound up with Tuff Seal tiles. They cost a lot more than most people would consider for their garage but we like it to look nice and the floor does a ton for that end.

You bet, heating and cooling. This man cave was on my bucket list. I now have my place to do what I want...year round. Last winter I did a complete rebuild on my trucks suspension bushings...while it snowed outside. It was nice!
